Sheriff ArPaio is going to use an ‘armed posse’ to protect schools in Phoenix but it isn’t going to be an armed guard standing at the entrance. He says his posse will be monitoring the perimeter of the schools in hopes of deterring anyone who would want to do the school harm.

And this is how it’s done

    • PVG

      Amen!

  • 911Infidel

Yet another innovative solution to protect the schools. Let the counties of each state determine their own solutions to school safety. People like Diane Frankenstein need to lgo back to whatever it is that they do well…(in her case I can’t think of what that might be) and leave the school districts to make their own judgements on school safety.

    • white531

The eternal argument. State’s rights vs. Federal. The basic fear our Founders had.

      • 911Infidel

        Exactly

  • Jaels_Song

I believe Sheriff Joe may be the only law man in the country who is doing anything at this point to protect our children. This man is a true leader who is unafraid to use the authority that is vested in him.

    • tinker_thinker

Not only the kids but his investigation into obama’s eligibility has been right on….

      • Jaels_Song

You bet, he is fearlessly on the side of the law.

        • http://politicalknow.blogspot.com/ SheerPolitics

Which is why this WH hates him….

          • Jaels_Song

            And, why we love him.

        • las1

In unrelated news Jael… and just for your information:

“The immediate fallout from the movie’s release was that Imran Firasat had his asylum revoked and will be deported from Spain, his adopted home. As an apostate from Islam, when Mr. Firasat is deported to his native Pakistan he will likely face the death penalty. “
          http://gatesofvienna.blogspot.ca/2012/12/terry-jones-banned-from-schengen-area.html

This is what you get when you don’t stand for freedom of speech even when that freedom of speech somehow offends your sensibilities. The result: A whole geographical polity (The Schengen Area signatories which includes all of Western Europe), so cowered and wizened in not protecting freedom of speech, that they end up giving to the enemy aid and comfort: Muslims who will commit more atrocities and double down even further on committing their crimes, all because we refuse to say “ENOUGH” and all because we refuse to protect and support our own. Blackmail pays.

I sincerely hope you now begin to get the picture.

          • Jaels_Song

Once again, you continue to troll out of context and accuse me of things I did not say, nor believe. Are you going to inaccurately obsess and harass each time I post a comment? Thank you for the article, I had already shared it with a group two days ago.

            • Jaels_Song

As a matter of fact, a few years back, via some work I was doing, I had personal contact with one of the bloggers from gatesofvienna. It is an excellent site.

      • white531

This is a good American. He is wired for Freedom. He is what we all should strive to be.

    • white531

Sheriff Joe Arpaio is a holdover from Arizona’s Territorial days, when the law was the gun you carried on your hip. It worked then, and it works now. Part of the phrase, “Enforce the Law,” is the word, “Enforce.” Part of the word, “Enforce,” is, “Force.”

“Force,” is the only thing the bad guys understand. Joe Arpaio delivers the Force.

Joe is always under attack by the Liberals. It’s like that World War II saying, “If you’re not taking flack, then you’re not over the target.” Joe takes flack all the time. That’s how he knows he’s over the target. He is the genuine product, and I thank God we have him here in Arizona. We need to clone him and put him in every State of the Union.

I would love to see Obama strapped to a chair, under a bright light, with Sheriff Joe, interrogating him. “What the Hell do you think you are doing with my country, you miserable swine from Chicago!”

      • Orangeone

“What the Hell do you think you are doing with my country, you miserable swine from Kenya!” Fixed is for ya

        • white531

Okay, Orange. Miserable swine from Kenya, by way of Chicago. That about right? ;)

          • Orangeone

How’s this:  Miserable swine born in Kenya, raised in Indonesia and further educated in domestic terrorism in Chicago.

            • white531

I often misread people’s posts, but I’m getting the feeling you don’t really like this guy. :)

              • Orangeone

Oh I’m soooo sorry to give you that impression :):):) I simply cannot imagine how you might have reached that conclusion….. gigglesnort

                • white531

gigglesnort. I am always adding new words to my vocabulary, but that is a new one.

                  What does it mean, exactly?

                • Orangeone

Michelle Malkin uses that frequently on Twitchyteam.com  It’s when you giggle so hard you snort :)

        • Conniption Fitz

Actually, Obama went to college as an international student – an Indonesian national. Bet he still holds dual citizenship.

Obama’s alleged father was a Kenyan national and was NOT, NEVER, EVER an United States citizen, therefore Obama is NOT qualified to be President of the United States.

Obama’s entire presidency is unlawful and invalid.

These are FACTS that the media AND Congress ignore.

          • Orangeone

I concur 100% my friend.  And Boehner is crickets on this, still and will be again during the secret inauguration.

    • http://radamisto.blogspot.com piniella

[I believe Sheriff Joe may be the only law man in the country who is doing anything at this point to protect our children. ] Arpaio did almost nothing about 400 reported cases of child sexual abuse in Maricopa County.

Arpaio Is Criticized Over Handling of Sex-Crimes Cases
          By MARC LACEY
          Published: December 9, 2011
          http://www.nytimes.com/2011/12/10/us/sheriff-joe-arpaio-criticized-over-handling-of-sex-crimes-cases.html?_r=0

The cases were first raised by The East Valley Tribune [http://www.pulitzer.org/archives/8377] in 2008 but resurfaced in the news media earlier this year and in a recent article by The Associated Press, which prompted Sheriff Arpaio to defend himself at a news conference. “If there were any victims, I apologize to those victims,” he said on Monday, vowing to hold deputies accountable.

          • aposematic

For starters, trust nothing out of the AP–a liberal dirty rag supplier. The Law is the Law and even Sheriffs must opperate within its confines. More info definitely needed here!

      • Jaels_Song

Please define “almost nothing” and provide evidence.

Nope- Sheriff Babeu in Pinal County AZ is doing the same.

Good, I am glad that to hear this. TY.

  • NYGino

From what I’ve been reading lately Obama and Emmanuel should be great supporters of this. Their kids go to schools that are, shall we say, protected?

    • badbadlibs

For bo and the side kick to support this idea, it would mean they think, act and or talk rationally. They’re cut from the same stupid cloth Gregory is, they just want their own kids protected, everyone else’s were probably just “punishment for mistakes” anyway.

      • NYGino

Yes badbad, yes. What was I thinking, of course.

        • badbadlibs

          ;)

    • aposematic

Hmmm…read something recently about Obuma saying he wanted to be reelected so his daughters would continue to be protected by men with guns…

      • NYGino

The hypocrisy of the left has no bounds, and no shame at all. Yes that is what the impostor told Baba Wawa. Then, after the second person was pushed off of a subway platform to their death in one month by a deranged rider Bloomberg urges people to put this into perspective.

How about putting gun deaths into perspective.

  • demographicallychallenged

Just recieved notice today that they will be doing the same thing here, for an undetermined period of time. Gosh and no Federal $$$ or intervention required.

  • Lives4Freedom

Good for you Joe. I knew we needed more people like you when I first heard about your “desert retreat” jails, complete with bologna sandwiches.

The old school term, “posse”, made me laugh. I went to college in Phoenix back in the mid-90’s, and it was totally commonplace to see an older gentleman at the grocery store, with a pair of pearl handled revolvers hanging off his belt.

    • white531

      Don’t be a stranger, Lives4Freedom.

      • Lives4Freedom

Thanks. I will try not to. I am not naturally the expressive type, and probably visited this site for nearly a year before taking to the keyboard.

It’s hard to simply sit around, and watch our liberties get attacked from every angle, especially in the wake of the last election, and not say or do anything about it. 60 million people have no clue what they did.

might I add, ” if you can’t get in touch with politicians, call the Secretary of State and POTUS “.

B: Sheriff Joe puts armed guards around the schools.

I’ll take B all day long.

  • George530

Sheriff Joe is a Man of his word and he backs it up with Action, when required. A True Defender of the Citizens who he was elected to protect. Bless him and his bold steps.

  • celestialjunk

Somewhat OT, but on the day after the Newtown shootings, the police said in a news conference that local police waited for state police backup before doing an active shooter search. I find this interesting, because this would be against protocol in Canada. In Canada the first officers, even if alone, are to immediately enter and head for the sound of gun fire or disturbance with the intent of killing or disabling the shooter. I thought that after Columbine, this was the protocol in the USA as well?

Strange thing though, I have yet to find one news source in the USA raising this question.

Steyn says it took 20 minutes for police to enter the school … makes one think.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Dave-Kawasaki/1798183858 Dave Kawasaki

Number one objective for U.S. cops is to go home @ the end of their shift, PERIOD. The SCotUS has ruled that they have no positive obligation to protect anyone. Cops aren’t protectors, they’re investigators for the prosecution.

  • John3_3

I agree that he needs to be applauded for getting something done. That being said, I’m not for armed guards or cops in the schools. What I am for is the common everyday citizen of the United States of America, more specifically, teachers, principals and custodians, taking advantage of their constitutional right to bear arms to protect the themselves and the innocent children.

    • Orangeone

Unbelievable that you would prefer armed teachers to armed guards or law enforcement in schools who are actually trained to handle these situations. Teachers cannot even figure out how to work a proxima

      • John3_3

Teachers aren’t capable of getting trained? I think your comment about relying on the govt to protect the American citizens when we have a constitutional right to do so ourselves is unbelievable. It’s easier to carry a 9mm on my belt than to carry a police officer on my belt.

        • Orangeone

Why don’t you send all teachers to Afghanistan for a few years.  They fail in the classroom teaching and you want them to carry guns.  School districts should contract with retired law enforcement and veterans and hold teachers to proper standards of teaching.

          • John3_3

You don’t even make sense. You should take your anti-2nd amendment views to another forum.

            • Orangeone

Far from anti 2nd Amendment.  Teachers have no business having loaded guns in classrooms. What’s the old saying, those that can do, those that can’t teach. One only needs to look at the crap “graduating” from public schools to see what failure teachers are in this country.  They are focused on their high salaries, cushy fringe bennies, the significant number of days off they have in a very short school year.
Public schools should be closed.  Parents should be held accountable to educate their own children at their own cost.  You are free to tote your gun around your own kids any time you’d like but you are not free to do so around anyone elses.

              • John3_3

You want to create a police state in the schools, I want to see citizens stand up for their rights.

You are saying that teachers are too stupid to be able to defend themselves therefore they shouldn’t. That, my friend, is anti 2nd amendment and you don’t even realize it. “We the sheeple…..”

                • Orangeone

You are sooo incorrect. I have repeatedly said that school districts should employ retired law enforcement and veterans.  They are liberal thug mouthpieces spewing hate and anger in classrooms, teaching falsehoods like the Boston Tea Party was an act of terrorism and that Allah is the Lord!
You believe that teachers are gods. And what’s worse is that teachers believe they are gods.  Close all public schools, saved hundreds of billions in taxpayer money and hold parents accountable to teach and protect their own children.  It’s long past time the government-funded daycare is out of business.

                • John3_3

You said I don’t have a right to “tote” my gun around anyone elses children. Again, that is anti 2nd! since when don’t I have that right?

I believe teachers are gods? That must be why we homeschool our 3 school aged kids.

Any parent that sends or sent their children to public school should be arrested for child abuse. Where did you send your children?

              • Jaels_Song

I feel you pain. I have a guy accusing me of being anti-free speech and kowtowing to Islam because I disagreed with the tactics that a certain Pastor committed a few years ago. Your opinion on teachers and weapons does not make you anti-2nd Amendment.

                • Orangeone

Thank you!  And feel free to let me know what thread someone is attacking you on, you are far from anti-free speech!

                • Jaels_Song

He is actually a very articulate and knowledgeable guy, so good, that he ought to offer his writing skills to a blog that educates about Islam. He just had an over reaction to something I posted and we got off on the wrong foot. Pretty soon, he will figure out that we are on the same side.

      • ryanomaniac

Come on now. So teachers are too stupid to operate a weapon? I know we see story after story about dumb teachers but a major majority are definitely intelligent enough to operate something as simple as a 357 mag. I have more faith in the person than the government. You should also.

        • Orangeone

In a violent situation like Columbine, Red Lake, and Newtown yes.  I have more faith in our retired law enforcement and military veterans to protect and defend than I ever will in a teacher.

        • Conniption Fitz

Actually, some union-protected teachers are not smart enough or morally-sound enough to be role models or educators of our children. They dispense political leftist propaganda, political correctness, socially, mentally and physically destructive ideologies instead of math, science, geography and history.

          • ryanomaniac

I did say we hear stories of stupid teachers. Most are not.

  • white531

Take note of what Sheriff Joe said. “It will be up and running, in a week.” No further discussion. It will be up and running in a week. Because Sheriff Joe is in charge. As opposed to a bunch of worthless Politicians.

Every so often, I’m embarassed by the fact that I live in Arizona. This is one of those times.

    • crosshr

you may move else where lawless or less law

    • Rshill7

You should be embarrassed by this as well as your previous posts. The real “whacko” is wearing your underpants. It appears that your frame of reference is Obama’s duodenum.

      • Jaels_Song

        LOL! Too funny!

    • ryanomaniac

Mexico sounds nice for ya doesn’t it?

    • Jaels_Song

I was embarrassed for Arizona when Obama was welcomed by Arizona liberals to use the memorial service of Loughner victims as a campaign rally event where T-Shirts were passed out. Liberals take warped pleasure in prostituting personal tragedy for their own enslavement ideology.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_GDJGRV2MMCB6P2ZYTUZW6BHFVA Richard

This guy makes too much sense so Obama says not to listen to his ideas.

  • http://navalwarfare.blogspot.com/ Libertyship46

I wonder if fewer people would have died in Phoenix at the Gabby Giffords shooting if they had armed guards or even better security protecting the Congresswoman? Somebody could have at least stopped the shooter right there before he killed and wounded all those people. Worth thinking about.

  • wodiej

    Works for me.

  • ApplePie101

Rather than a one-size-fits-all national solution, which may or may not work, it’s better for communities to try different approaches to the problem to see what works best.

One issue not discussed is profiling. Most of the school attacks (Columbine, Virginia Tech, Red Lake High, Chardon High, Newtown) were perpetrated by white males in their teens or twenties.

    • Jaels_Song

Good idea. Profiling works. EL AL airlines does profiling and it WORKS! We’ve been wanting profiling at our own airports for a long time. Profiling would probably prevent many a Depends clad grannies and disabled children in wheelchairs from being molested by the TSA.

Do you think we can start this without people screaming “racism”?

      • ApplePie101

We’re called racist anyway. What have we got to lose? Besides, it’s not as though white males in their teens and twenties are a ‘protected’ minority.

  • tvlgds
  • tinlizzieowner

“He says his posse will be monitoring the perimeter of the schools in hopes of deterring anyone who would want to do the school harm.”

You can’t do that Sheriff Joe, the libs call it ‘profiling’. The same reason the TSA has to frisk old ladies in wheel chairs and infants in strollers at airports, rather than just those suspicious looking males between 18 and 45. ‘Equality, you know.
