SNL has a really weird cold open for Hillary after the election

In a really odd and melancholy cold open for the Saturday Night Live open sketch, Kate McKinnon sings a somber rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” to symbolize that everything is terrible.

That’s kinda weird – it’s like they’re using the occasion of an artist dying in order to worship their political idol. On the other hand, she sang it pretty well. Oh well, whatever.

Dave Chappelle’s monologue was much better:

I have to say, his recollection of that party at the White House is pretty cool. Maybe it’s just me.

In another sketch, they seem to mock and deride liberals freaking out on election night:
