For those who say that Trump is their guy because he’s so tough on immigration, I present to you his tweet from two years ago where he endorsed amnesty:
Congress must protect our borders first. Amnesty should be done only if the border is secure and illegal immigration has stopped.

Of course, even then he was saying that illegal immigration has to be absolutely shut down before we grant amnesty, but it’s clear that he was at least supporting the idea of allowing millions of illegals to stay while the border is shut down, and legalized afterward.
Meanwhile, Ted Cruz says he’ll deport illegal aliens and WON’T let them back in. Trump’s plan is to let back in “the good ones.” Whatever your position is, it’s clear that Cruz is to the right of Trump on immigration.
