Trump is trying to persuade conservatives back on his side by putting out a list of right-wing conservatives that he would put on the Supreme Court.
And then he backtracked on it:

As some are pointing out, what’s the point of this list, if he’s just gonna add to it willy-nilly?! The point of it was to reassure people that we could trust his picks. But we can’t, because mister art of the deal is always gonna change the deal.
