State judge says Detroit bankruptcy doesn’t honor Obama, cancels bankruptcy; Michigan appeals ruling…

If someone had told me this I wouldn’t have believed them. “It’s ludicrous,” I’d say, “no judge, even the most partisan judge would rule like that. It would destroy their reputation.”

Well I’d be wrong. But it’s still ludicrous (h/t: Hotair):

DETROIT NEWS – Aquilina, who granted the restraining order, clearly was irked.

Prior to her ruling on Friday, she criticized the Snyder administration and Attorney General’s Office for what appeared to be hasty action to outflank pension board attorneys.

“It’s cheating, sir, and it’s cheating good people who work,” the judge told assistant Attorney General Brian Devlin. “It’s also not honoring the (United States) president, who took (Detroit’s auto companies) out of bankruptcy.

Aquilina said she would make sure President Obama got a copy of her order.

“I know he’s watching this,” she said, predicting the president ultimately will have to take action to make sure existing pension commitments are honored.

Unbelievable. Aquilina is more than just partisan, it sounds like she worships at the feet of Obama. I hope she is disbarred because of this ruling.

Michigan has already appealed her ruling:

Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette on Friday appealed a state judge’s declaratory judgment that the bankruptcy petition Detroit’s emergency manager filed in federal court Thursday should be withdrawn.

The appeal of Ingham County Circuit Court Judge Rosemarie Aquilina’s Friday order was made in the Michigan Court of Appeals on behalf of Governor Rick Snyder, according to a statement from Schuette’s office. Additional motions seeking emergency consideration were expected to be filed later on Friday, the statement added.
