Ted Cruz was asked by NBC News about Trump’s latest race-based criticisms of Judge Curiel, the Trump University judge.
According to Betsy Klein, a reporter for CNN, Cruz said “of course it’s inappropriate to be attacking a federal judge’s race or ethnicity.”

Cruz refused to speculate on why Trump would do such a thing, telling NBC News they would have to ask Trump to explain it.
It’s also being reported that Trump has told his surrogates NOT to apologize for his remarks on Judge Curiel.
Lisa Mirando tweets that Trump believes he’s been wronged and that the attacks are helping him:
Per @Acosta – Trump tells surrogates: no apology for his attacks on Judge Curiel; thinks he's been wronged, thinks attacks are helping him.

Amanda Carpenter doesn’t understand this logic at all, as she pointed out that race-based criticisms like this are making it impossible for Republicans to help him in the general, and that’s not what she would call ‘helping’:
How is making it impossible for R's to help you in the general *helping* ??? He is driving his own surrogates away https://t.co/qvm1HdOYEP

Ben Sasse chimed into today saying that Trump’s remarks are indeed the definition of racism:
Public Service Announcement:
Saying someone can't do a specific job because of his or her race is the literal definition of "racism."— Ben Sasse (@BenSasse) June 6, 2016
And Lee Doren says what we are all thinking in just two words:
