Ted Cruz was asked this morning about the Vegas Shooting, specifically the bump stocks that were used by the shooter. Cruz was hesitant, however, to even call for hearings on bump stocks until we know all the facts.
Listen below. It’s the first thing asked about in the interview:
As Patrick Svitek points out:
.@TedCruz this morning declines to echo Cornyn on prospect of bump stock hearing. Let's gather all the facts first, Cruz told @MarkDavis.

"Once we can do that, then we can ask what public policy steps could've prevented" the shooting, @TedCruz says. https://t.co/PBdxSNsHD1

Waiting for all the facts is something Democrats never like to do because they have a gun-control agenda to push, which Cruz also points out.
I can’t disagree with him here. While I think it’s becoming clear the Congress will eventually move to ban these quasi full-auto bump stocks, it’s always prudent to wait until we know everything about what happened before going down the public policy road.
