Ted Cruz: The Obamacare replacement can be FIXED

There are calls by many to scrap the Obamacare replacement bill, but Ted Cruz believes the bill can be fixed and is suggesting that Trump and his team are working to fix it:

WASHINGTON EXAMINER – Sen. Ted Cruz said a roundly criticized House Republican plan to repeal and replace Obamacare can be salvaged and that the White House is playing an active part in negotiations.

The Texas Republican told reporters Wednesday that the American Health Care Act, a bill that would gut and partially replace Obamacare, couldn’t pass the Senate as written.

“I don’t think the House bill as currently drafted gets the job done,” Cruz said. But he said the bill can be fixed and that the White House is “playing an active part in negotiating improvements.”

Cruz played down questions on whether the White House thinks the bill could survive as is, saying only that lawmakers are striving to get “legislative consensus.”

I’ve always been for the notion of fixing the Obamacare replacement, and if it can be done then I’m all for it.

But if they continue with this phony three phase process where they are leaving rules and regulations in the hands of administration bureaucrats and not in the hands of Congress where they belong, and they believe they will get 60 votes in the Senate later on to push out free market healthcare policies, then I don’t think it can be fixed at all.
