Ted Cruz told the audience at the Red State gathering today that the way we win this fight over Obamacare is the same way Reagan won the Cold War, we don’t blink. Nobody back then, he said, thought we could win the cold war and they mocked Reagan for his ‘we win, they lose‘ strategy against the Soviets. And just like then, he says, the ‘chattering class’ is now saying that Obama will always stick to his principles and therefore we must capitulate on Obamacare and forgo this fight to defund it.
But, he says, it doesn’t have to be that way. If Obama shuts down the government then it is Republicans vs Obama and we can win that fight if we stand there and don’t blink!
