The Day After…

Something has been sticking in the back of my mind for a while, something I heard Mark Levin say a few weeks back.

When I wake up on November 9th with Hillary Clinton having won the presidency and I begin to look back at all the crap that’s flying around right now, will it matter to me? As I stare down the barrel of four years of our country being led by another radical leftist who will decimate the Supreme Court for years to come and continue the Obama legacy of fundamental transformation, will any of Trump’s inappropriate comments from either 2005 or 2016 still matter? Or will it pale in comparison to impending doom I feel as I look at what is ahead.

I’m sure many of you know that during the primaries people tend to got pretty sensitive about vetting candidates, so that something small can make a normally good candidate look bad to us. But then after the dust settles and the primary is over, we begin to look back with more objective eyes and realize that most of those candidates weren’t so bad after all.

I’m not saying Trump is a good candidate, nor am I suggesting that if Hillary wins that we’re going to look back and think Trump was the answer to all of our prayers. That’s delusional.

But what I am saying is when all of this is over and Hillary wins, will I wish I had voted for the candidate that would do the least damage to the country?

I know some of you think Trump will decimate the country as bad as Hillary or worse. But I don’t believe that and I never have.

I’ve always believed at best Trump would be a RINO Republican who is more concerned about his power, the media and winning than he would be concerned about the country. He would be like many of the establishment RINO Republicans that we have in Washington today that have disappointed us so much in the era of Obama.

But even then, I still believe that is better than having a radical leftist at the helm of the country. And if I really believe that, will I not look back with regret that I didn’t try and prevent Hillary from winning the election, especially if the election is close?

All I can do is what I feel in my heart is best, and even though I wrote a piece in July saying I would never vote for Donald Trump, I’m now regretting that I boxed myself in like that. As Levin said yesterday this election is about damage control, and the closer I get to the election the more than rings true to me.

So I am telling you now, as I want to be honest and upfront with you, that I’ve changed my mind and will likely vote for Trump in November.

That doesn’t mean we’re going to change anything as to how we cover this election. It’s still the worst election ever and I can promise you I will be holding my nose as I head to the polls in November.
