Trump was hard pressed to disavow David Duke in the primary, but eventually did after the media continued to press him on it.
Well today his campaign was quick on the gun, according to CNN, in disavowing Duke and his new ad pushing both Trump and himself:

It’s safe to say the last thing Trump needs right now is another David Duke scandal hanging over his campaign. Which is why, I’m sure, they were so quick in getting this disavowal out there.
In the primary, Trump clearly didn’t want to push these guys away. But now he knows they are way more toxic in the general, as Hillary has already labeled him a racist as a general talking point.
