Today’s open thread brought to you by magic hands!

Also, some of you may have noticed the switch to the new DISQUS system last night. Unfortunately, the design is way too cluttered which makes comments more difficult to read. So I switched it back. But in the future if they clean up the design, we’ll give it another shot because it does have some great features.

There’s the best example yet of what’s wrong with today’s youth.

I love how dumbstruck Pat Sajak seemed at the end. “Wow it’s just a weird game and you never know…”

  • Nukeman60

The look on the kid’s face is what I picture of Obama, late at night, alone in the Oval Office, holding his ‘magic wand’ to transform America.

‘Why isn’t this darn thing working anymore? I had them right where I wanted them. Come on wand! Wake up. Aarrgg. Mooochelle!’

    • Sober_Thinking

Maybe he should try using his “big stick” some more…

  • FutureOnePercent

Well, there’s the effeminate answer for you… magic hands.

At the end of a scrabble game one time I had the word RETOUCHED and putting it down would have won me the game and given me 50 bonus points because it was a bingo. And me being a photographer, what a great word!

But I sat there and sat there thinking “is re-touch a word?…I mean, to touch again?” and I played a different word and blew the stupid bingo all because scrabble had totally screwed with my head so much and I was afraid of it getting challenged and losing the game.

Incidentally I won the game anyway but not in the epic way I should have.

      • stage9

        lol!

      • kong1967

I haven’t played Scrabble since I was a kid, but if you were challenged and it was wrong couldn’t you just replay?

      • FutureOnePercent

I just played a game of scrabble with my wife, brother in law, and nephew a few weeks ago, and I was killing em.

On the last round, my wife drops “baileys” as a last ditch effort hoping it was a word and not just a proper noun. Turns out it is a word! It’s the outer walls of a castle (who knew) So she gets a bingo and like a triple word score or something and she ended up getting something like 100 points for the word, and wins the game by 3 points.

        It was EPIC lol.

Greatest scrabble come-back I’ve ever seen hahah.

Wow. A mind is a terrible thing to waste… a wasted mind is a terrible thing… a terrible mind is a waste… a terrible thing is to mind your waste…

Public (Government-run) education has served this guy well… Now watch me pull a rabbit outta my hat!

    • MiketheMarine

You are funny, lately. You have polished your stand up routine. I like it.

      • Sober_Thinking

        Take my wife… please. ;)

Presto! (Growling lion appears) Sometimes I don’t know my own strength.

        Loved Rocky and Bullwinkle.
Or as Boris and Natasha said, “Moose and Squirrel.”

        • Sober_Thinking

Lol! Everyone must have watched that show! Great catch!

      • Sober_Thinking

Alrighty then. Reminds me of Cheers when Cliff was on Jeopardy, had 22 thousand dollars and bet it all on 3 people who were never in his kitchen.

    ROLF! poor guy

  • n8sebaka

kid spends too much time using his hand. first thing he thought of.

    Priceless

I would LOVE to see a

GAME SHOW with only POLITICIANS contestants

That would be awesome! (and short lived)

    • JerrymB

Jeopardy this week had news pundits each night. MSNBC’s Chris Matthews showed us the ignorant, stupid, dingbat that he is–didn’t know anything.

If Obama had a boy, he would look like that guy…

Since acronyms and word games are the theme of this OT thread, see what LOST now stands for.

I don’t know whether my page didn’t load correctly or if it was the new Disqus. There wasn’t a box around the statements, and instead of “like” it had “votes” with an up and down arrow on each side. I restarted my computer today but I still don’t know because it was switched back. I should have rebooted when I first saw it.

  • Rshill7

Wow! Lots of excess space in junior’s cranium huh? Maybe it was an unusual brain freeze. It ryhmes with blonde, fond, conned, and pawned, not sand, canned, land, and scanned.

I bet Rick Perry would’ve gotten it right off the bat :-)

    • Linky1

Duh, gee, RS, I done thought my public school edu-ma-cation prepared me for the big time.

  • timeout31

    Hardly important.

Hey, folks, just wanted to pop by and post a link to a DVD you might enjoy … for those of you who like history (it even ties in with the events of the Tom Cruise movie VALKYRIE), this one’s for you: it’s a documentary called SURVIVING HITLER: A LOVE STORY … here’s my take …

      I believe. That’s all I’m sayin’.

  • SaraPFan

Occupy protesters should show up at that studio because it wasn’t fair to that student to not have ALL the letters turned to make it more advantageous to him. Jeopardy is to blame. They should just give him the prize out of “fairness”.

    • SaraPFan

“That “and” looked so andy”. What does that mean? I can’t stop laughing.
