Tom Brady says he did NOT endorse Donald Trump for president

Tom Brady says he was just having fun, that he was joking around when he made the off-hand comment that a Trump presidency ‘would be great’:

DAILY MAIL – He raised eyebrows after saying Donald Trump’s presidency ‘would be great’ and caused a stir when the mogul’s trademark ‘Make America Great Again’ cap was spotted in his locker.

But Tom Brady has insisted he hasn’t endorsed his friend and the Republican front-runner, saying that his ‘off-hand comments’ were taken out of context.

The Super Bowl-winning quarterback said he was having ‘fun’ when he appeared to back the former reality star and admitted he hasn’t paid attention to politics for a ‘long time’.

Earlier this month, when asked about whether Trump could enter the White House, he said: ‘I hope so. It would be great. There would be a putting green on the White House lawn, I’m sure of that.’

But, in an interview with Boston radio station WEEI, the New England Patriot has backtracked.

He said: ‘It’s just a different world than when I started in professional football. Even an off-handed comment like that, like you said, that people may run with; and I understand why people do run with it because you get the clicks and that type of stuff. It’s just people doing their job.

‘A comment like that, I try to have fun with certain things.’

Brady added that he known Trump for a long time and he has ‘been a fun guy that I’ve had a lot of time around.’

Well he deflated that quickly. I hear he’s good at that.
