Sen. Tom Cotton was on MSNBC this morning defending the letter he and 46 other Senators sent to Iran, letting them know that any deal negotiated with the president isn’t binding unless Congress agrees to it.
He was asked about Biden’s slamming of the letter, saying the letter was beneath the dignity of an institution that he reveres. Cotton simply replied:
Joe Biden, as Barack Obama’s own secretary of defense has said, has been wrong about nearly every foreign policy and national security decision in the last 40 years. Moreover, if Joe Biden so respects the dignity of the institution of the Senate he should be insisting that the president submit any deal to approval of the Senate, which is exactly what he did on numerous deals during his time in Senate.
