Tough break, #Resistance, Trump’s approval jumps up BIGLY to among highest since taking office

On Friday, a new job approval rating for President Trump was released and it turns out to be his highest marks yet.

It turns out that the mere weight of his ugly personality, gross past, and crappy tweeting aren’t enough to offset the ugly personality, gross past, and crappy tweeting by the angry left. In fact, if anything, their petty and one-sided, not to mention brand-new-to-them embrace of standards of decency has backfired.

This is just one humble Texan’s opinion, but the Stormy Daniels story might have done him some damage among conservatives and evangelicals if the story and pressure and heat weren’t coming from the hypocritical left. I’m not calling that a rational position, per se. I’m just noticing it as a quirk of the psychology of human beings. That kind of “we can say it, you can’t” mentality.

In any case, the left will dismiss these numbers because they are from Rasmussen, which liberals hate. They especially hated Rasmussen in 2016 because the polling there consistently showed Trump more than competitive with Hillary and indicated he could win. You know, it was correct. They hate that.

Here’s the latest.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows that 51% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Forty-nine percent (49%) disapprove.

Eighty-one percent (81%) of Republicans like the job the president is doing; 75% of Democrats don’t. Among voters not affiliated with either major party, 47% approve; 51% disapprove.

The latest figures include 33% of all likely voters who Strongly Approve of the way the president is performing and 40% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -7.

“Experts” may also try to poo-poo this because it’s the daily tracker, given (obviously) by nature to daily fluctation, but frankly that is a point in its favor. Not only reflecting the latest on Story but the latest from the NRA convention. In other words, a really great picture of exactly where he stood on Friday after the week’s news.

Now, here’s your grain of salt, via (of all places) Newsmax.

Despite the improvement, Trump’s average approval rating remains negative, according to RealClearPolitics, where his approval rating stands at 43.8 percent approve, 52.6 percent disapprove on average.

These results include Rasmussen’s most recent poll, as well as surveys from the Economist, Monmouth and Gallup.

That’s not really a contrary point, merely a tamping of expectations, though, because, again, the temperature changes daily and more importantly, because it isn’t descending. Proving the series of hits aren’t taking their toll.

Which means it’s not trending your way, Resistance. Sorry. Believe me, I don’t love that he’s loved, either. Heaven knows there will be a future price for today’s buy-in on the Donald.

But in the meantime, I do love that the left seems so powerless to achieve their heart’s desire. It’s … gratifying.

This is going to be a roller coaster year in the polls. Should be exciting. And hilarious.
