In a very odd interview on CNN with Trump’s longtime lawyer and friend Jay Goldberg, he says that Michael Cohen has not enough character to withstand the threat of prison, especially with the racial overtones that it comes with.
He says he expects Cohen will tell Mueller what he wants to hear in order to escape jailtime:
Jay Goldberg, longtime legal adviser to Trump, says he spoke with the president after Cohen raid & told him he's "concerned about a person [Cohen] facing a lengthy prison term who's likely to say things which he thinks would best position himself for leniency." pic.twitter.com/541YgZQGKC

And then he pretty much says Cohen is afraid of being raped in jail.
Goldberg says he's thinks Cohen will talk to prosecutors because he's worried about getting raped in prison.

"He's not suited to stand up to the rigors of jail life... Michael doesn't see himself walking down Broadway while people are clamoring, 'you're going to be my wife.'" pic.twitter.com/5IciTrNzp5
He continued:
Goldberg says that during their recent conversation, Trump told him he "understood" his concerns about Cohen cooperating with prosecutors pic.twitter.com/NM1QGjycq2

And continued:
Goldberg suggests Trump shouldn't be too worried about Mueller because "I think people are starting to lose interest in Mueller. I think his approval rating has gone down." And even if Trump was involved in collusion w/Russia, Goldberg points out that "collusion is not a crime." pic.twitter.com/GeFeKYvKDj

I’m wondering if this is planned in order to delegitimize any testimony that Cohen might give to Mueller. Either way, what a tangled web we weave, huh?
