Trump told Fox and Friends this morning that he’s ruling out picking a Democrat for his VP spot:

That picking a Democrat for his VP would even be in question for the Republican nominee says loads about Trump. Well at least he ruled it out.
Trump has been saying over the past few days that his VP pick will be someone political who can help him get things done in Washington with the Congress. So, that’s a big clue I think in Newt’s direction. It’s possible too he could pick Kasich in this regard, as he was a congressman for the better part of 20 years.
I think he should probably make a pick sooner than later instead of waiting for the convention. If it’s a good pick, it could help unify the party and he shouldn’t wait to do that.
