Within the last hour Trump has once again taken to Twitter, this time to defend himself against obstruction charges that are being looked at by the special prosecutor:
Why is that Hillary Clintons family and Dems dealings with Russia are not looked at, but my non-dealings are?
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 15, 2017
Crooked H destroyed phones w/ hammer, 'bleached' emails, & had husband meet w/AG days before she was cleared- & they talk about obstruction?
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 15, 2017
I don’t disagree about his comparison to Hillary. But isn’t he the one who made the call not to have Hillary investigated further when he came into office? Isn’t he the one who decided not to hire a special prosecutor to look into her email scandal?
It just sounds awfully hypocritical for him to be saying these things when he wanted to be ‘nice’ after he won and not have her investigated further.
Earlier this morning he made these comments about the obstruction investigation:
They made up a phony collusion with the Russians story, found zero proof, so now they go for obstruction of justice on the phony story. Nice

You are witnessing the single greatest WITCH HUNT in American political history – led by some very bad and conflicted people! #MAGA
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 15, 2017
Again, I don’t necessarily disagree with him about this being a witch hunt. These vague charges have been ongoing since he won the election and to this day no evidence of collusion has been found.
I know he wants to defend himself on Twitter and in some ways I don’t blame him. But he needs to be careful because I’m sure some are already reading this last tweet about ‘bad and conflicted people’ to mean he’s talking about the special prosecutor who is now leading the investigation. And I’m not sure he wants to be leveling those accusations yet.
Or maybe he does. I don’t know.
In the end I’m just don’t think these tweets help him very much. In fact they general seem to hurt him more than they do help, especially with such hostile opponents in the media and on the left.
