You knew it was coming. Here’s the president tweeting about the case he made famous during his primary campaign.
A disgraceful verdict in the Kate Steinle case! No wonder the people of our Country are so angry with Illegal Immigration.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 1, 2017
I’m surprised he had so little to say.
Here are some more reactions:
Jury convinced that illegal alien killed Kate Steinle accidentally. She would still be alive if we had a wall.
— Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) December 1, 2017
A lot more people would be outraged about Kate Steinle's killer escaping justice had she first robbed a convenience store.
— Razor (@hale_razor) December 1, 2017
I wonder how the jurors in the Kate Steinle trial will feel when they lay down to go to sleep tonight knowing they made a mockery out of American justice.
— Charlie Daniels (@CharlieDaniels) December 1, 2017
Kate Steinle’s killer found not guilty of murder. Not since OJ Simpson has this kind of verdict been dropped. At the very least manslaughter - he had a stolen gun! Awful.
— Bill O'Reilly (@BillOReilly) December 1, 2017
It is now on Attorney General Sessions to charge Kate Steinle’s killer with serious immigration violations. This is a litmus test for Mr. Sessions.
— Bill O'Reilly (@BillOReilly) December 1, 2017
People have a lot of tests for Sessions that he keeps failing and surviving.
I'm sorry Kate Steinle. I'm so sorry Steinle family.
— Joe Walsh (@WalshFreedom) December 1, 2017
Your government let you down. Your country let you down.
I'm so very sorry.
Carlson, as always, has to exaggerate as much as possible to drive his outraged audience:
Illegal immigrants are being given better treatment and special privileges because they are here illegally. It is hard to imagine that an American citizen would have been acquitted of charges in the Steinle case #Tucker @FoxNews
— Tucker Carlson (@TuckerCarlson) December 1, 2017
This assumes the absolute worst without much evidence of the truth of his claim. Which is the premise of his entire show, basically. We just don’t know enough yet about why they gave this verdict, and people are making a lot of assumptions based on their hatred of Californians. This does not seem like justice, but we should fashion our opinions on facts, not outrage and emotion. Let the libs do that.
