Trump’s new Education Secretary pick DENIES support of Common Core as debate erupts!!

A lot of people have weighed in on Trump’s pick for Secretary of Education, Betsy DaVos – and the right is divided. We noted with glee that she’s a huge charter school and education voucher supporter, but that’s not the end of the story.

Here’s NeverTrumper-turned-MoroseTrumper Bill Kristol:

And others praising the pick:

Liberals are imploding, since this is bad news for teacher’s unions who suppress education and channel tons of money to Democrats:

And the conspiracy-pushing cretins at TrumpBart are freaking out, as Michelle Fields notes:

LOL! So they’re aligned with the left-wing unions on this pick!! Poor precious snowflakes!!

But then more reputable conservative and Common Core critic Michelle Malkin is also upset:

So two things about this – if it’s true that she gave money to the Clinton Foundation, aren’t these the same morons who told us it was perfectly fine for Trump to donate to the Clintons because he’s such a businessman? Not surprising the mindless maggots have such short memories.

And on Common Core, Betsy is pushing back against the critics by saying she is NOT a supporter:

Here’s what the link says:

Q: Thereā€™s been a lot of talk about Common Core. Can you provide some straight talk on this topic?

Certainly. I am not a supporterā€”period.

I do support high standards, strong accountability, and local control. When Governors such as John Engler, Mike Huckabee, and Mike Pence were driving the conversation on voluntary high standards driven by local voices, it all made sense.

Have organizations that I have been a part of supported Common Core? Of course. But thatā€™s not my position. Sometimes itā€™s not just students who need to do their homework.

However, along the way, it got turned into a federalized boondoggle.

Above all, I believe every child, no matter their zip code or their parentsā€™ jobs, deserves access to a quality education.

I’m inclined to think this is a good thing. She seems to be angering the right liberals. And, it’s kinda ironic that the pro-Trumpers are the ones who are so angry when they’ve been the ones telling us to give him a chance…
