Turns out both Harry Reid and Diane Feinstein have carried guns for their protection

This is amazing, especially considering that Diane Feinstein is leading the charge on tougher gun laws and Harry Reid will bring her bill up for a vote at some point. They both have explained the need for people to carry guns. Here is Feinstein from 1995:

Below is Harry Reid talking about his use of guns for protection and hunting, not to mention he’s on stage right before Wayne LaPierre with the NRA:

I’m not surprised. These liberal hypocrites live to tell others how they should live and then do the exact opposite. All under the guise of false concern for the public’s safety. Funny how they don’t trust the government to protect them either…they work for it and know what kind of idiots run it!

    • key word is “hypocrite”

      • TimeForAnarchy

        With a capital “H”.

    • Jazzee

if they are soooooooooooo concerned about safety how about taking the BAD GUY GUNS????????????????????? why are they after law abiding??? Hmmmmm wonder why
      wake UP AMERICA

      • Orangeone

I propose Holder and Obama go to the south side of Chicago, their home turf and take them from their bros and Rahm goes along to witness it. After all, there is a ban on guns don’t ya know.

  • Orangeone

    Thanks for posting Scoop.

So Feinstein was worried about the bomb so she carried a gun for protection and was willing to kill someone if they were trying to kill her. Well Ms. Feinstein, my life is worth everything to me and I fully intend to do the same so STFU (sorry Scoop)

She admits terrorism is worsening and wants to disarm Americans, oh yeah on the Conservative ones because the liberals will receive waivers just like with ObamaCare. And she states the terrorists include people on the far right. Ms. Feinstein, please provide documentary evidence to support that statement.

Well I’m going to toss ole Chuckie Schumer in for good measure too.

    • Jazzee

LIARS ALL of them she needs to be exposed and reid and schumer
and by the way take secret service protection AWAY from presidents…for LIfE they just passed this it was for 10 yrs now for LIFE and they carry GUNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH NO this cannot be allowed these jerks don’t deserve it

      • If convicted felons can’t carry guns, then neither should the congress or president be able to? The only difference is the conviction.

        • Orangeone

They have been convicted by We The People and that’s enough for me.

    • I Like Shooting, Too

She doesn’t want to disarm you. She obviously agrees with gun rights, being that she has used a gun for protection, too, thus she wants to protect people’s rights to own guns while also increasing regulations on certain things in a failed effort to try to stop a massive shooting.

      • You know how you stop mass shootings? No “Gun Free Zones”. Let anyone except felons carry and watch violent crime rates go down.

        • badbadlibs

The left are so stuck on stupid that it defies all explanation. The trick is to get thru to those knuckleheads the logic of your statement.

          • I Like Shooting, Too

I think the point of arguing is to make a statement and defend it with facts and then point out why your opponent is wrong with facts. That would seem to be the logical thing to do if you want to make a point.

          • You’d be right about your average citizen. The problem is; those in government KNOW better, but they push this sh** anyway, using the fears of the stupid because they have plans in mind, once our guns are out of the way.

        • I Like Shooting, Too

If you arbitrarily let anyone carry guns, that won’t really decrease crime, and it might actually increase crime.

You say “let anyone EXCEPT felons carry,” but such laws would just make it easy for felons to carry. They could steal a gun. Such laws would also let mentally ill people carry, like the shooter, because most mentally ill people aren’t felons. You want to allow people who will commit felonies but haven’t already done so carry. Every felon was not a felon at one point in their live. After they commit a violent felony, you wouldn’t be able to undue the violence by not letting them carry in the future.

Your argument is based on a fallacy that any and every responsible citizen will carry a gun if they are allowed. In fact, most states already allow most people to carry guns, but most people don’t want to. (One reason people don’t want to is that the chance of getting murdered in America is very low. It is higher than in most of the Western World, but it is still low as a practical matter.)

Your argument is also based on the fallacy that any non-felon who carries a gun will be able to use it well and be responsible with it. There are a lot of people who can snap or just act stupid and irresponsibly who might get into a road rage altercation or something with a gun. There are also a lot of people who wouldn’t be very accurate or have the guts to react.

Finally, your argument is based on one very big fallacy: that kindergarten students would be able to use a gun responsibly. Remember, this happened in a school, so students are most of the population that is in the school.

Let me offer you one idea involving guns that would be effective in stopping school shootings (although the risk of a school shooting is greatly overblown): armed police officers or otherwise well trained officials. Police officers can shoot a student if he tries to commit a shooting. They are already effective at cutting down on other types of crime. In fact, the unemployment rate of veterans is much higher than the general population, so maybe the government could use a “veterans stimulus” by training veterans to protect schools. That is, if people actually think that spending money on the problem is worth it.

          • Brian M. Price

REALLY??? I used to be surprised by statements like yours but not anymore.

The reality is this: documented history shows, a well armed population decreases crime, increases personal responsibility and raises national security. Simple as that!

Felons, criminals and wrong doers will always have access to guns despite any new laws to stop them from doing so. WHY? Because they don’t care about the law. Why is that so hard to understand?

The second reality is; this gun control talk has nothing to do with guns anyway. This is all about chipping away at the constitution and the progressive agenda of population control. Anyone who believes otherwise is either a fool or in support of said agenda.

Either way, Americans better wake up and start understanding the real problems that face our country. Do you really want to solve this domestic terrorism issue and avoid more massacres like the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut?

If you are really interested in solving? If yes, then we need the following:
Put GOD back in schools, make parents accountable for the actions of their children and start regulating the violent video game pandemic that feeds this problem.

          • keyesforpres

We need guns to defend ourselves from this tyrannical gov’t. THAT is THE reason our Founders wanted us armed….so we could defend ourselves from tyrants.

Obama wants to round us up and you know it.

Before every mass murders during the 20th century the populace was disarmed….you know it.

          • Greg Andrews

There have been 29 scholarly studies last I looked. The numbers overwhelmingly suggest that letting law abiding folks carry is a strong deterrant. Further, with millions of permits now issued, it is clear that legal carriers essentialy do not engage in gun crime (on the order of couple 1/1000th of a percent have had their permits revoked due to gun crimes). But this should come as no shock. You get screened before you are issued a permit. To say that law abiding people are law abiding is kinda circular.

          • His arguments are based on facts. You have only to look at other countries that have implemented such laws and you will see that crime and murder rates have gone up in said countries. Plain and simple. If criminals know people are walking around armed they are less likely to try anything, but if they know people have no way to defend themselves than what is to stop them from going on the offensive. Your arguments hold no weight because the evidence is stacked against you.

          • I believe that you are engaging in a form of “transference”. You fear the things that YOU would do in certain situations. Under Obama Care you will be able to obtain “expert” help with your mental issues. That way you will not be able to own a gun therefor you can quit worrying about those “nasty guns”.

      • ZeroabsolutlyNone

Go back to your basement and watch some more MSNBC

      • notebene

Criminally insane people do not care if there is a law banning an assault weapon….that’s why they are criminals…they don’t care about the laws! Gun laws tie the hands of law abiding citizens, not criminals…get it?!

        • keyesforpres

He gets it. He is probably one of the ones that wants to round us up.

  • badbadlibs

The two leading faces of hypocrisy, brains that have turned to mush and stupidity on steroids at full congressional pay:
    Harry Ried
    Diane Feinstein

  • Steven

God bless you Wayne Lapierre! From my cold dead hands!

  • DCGere

    Hypocrites, beyond belief.

    • julia flowers

Oh easily believed. If their brains were gasoline, they would not between them have enough to start a pee ant’s motorcycle. Neither one has ever been accused of being smart

  • sDee

Two Democratic Senators with “A” ratings from the NRA came out for ObamaBan. That is a hard earned well-lobbied rating.

They must be pretty confident of their seat in the Oligarchy to give it up.

    • toongoon

Seems they are just as confident as they were with Obama winning reelection.

    • Deibold has their backs.

  • sDee

Feinstein is as obnoxious as ever. Clearly she was born with that stick up her….

And Reid – what can we really say?

What shame we have brought on Liberty to let her be led by such self serving, vile and pathetically single minded dolts.

  • The first thing a tyrannical government will do is disarm the public. The 2nd has clear rules against just that.

    • If they succeed in confiscating guns, then you know that our time is very short.

    • maynardb50

Disarming the millions of Americans with guns ain’t gonna happen. Heck, I can’t think of a single neighbor in my little subdivision that is not well armed. It would take an army to come in and start grabbing guns. Not gonna happen. I can’t even think of a police officer that would support such a thing. Remember, they have families too.

  • The Party of patronizing Saints has spoken!

  • JeffWRidge

Harry Reid was a cop?!? Where, Keystone?

At any rate, it would appear that the usual lefty double-standard is in effect. They’re not the same as us mere mortals out and about. They are our betters and feel that they have more rights as the rest of us.

    • toongoon

In spite of the Constitution, they gave themselves those rights.

    • Naturally, gods have more rights.

          • I don’t get it. Is that like “human farming”?

            • The book Animal Farm. I never read it. Saw the movie. It scared the crap out of me. If you’ve never read Orwell’s book or seen the movie- it’s a MUST! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClaNnaMgbF0

              • I concur. A must watch/read. Actually watch and read, the movie differs a LOT from the book, but both make good points.

                • Good point Wolfie. I’ve tried to get it out of the library, but it’s always out. I haven’t made it there in a while. I’m still waiting to read Atlas Shrugged.

                • Double-check with the librarians … there’s a good chance that some patron has decided to self-censor those 2 books so no one else will be badly influenced. Also, Fahrenheit 51 is another novel that is slowly coming to be fact ….

                • Thanks for the tip! I’ll try that. 🙂

  • Awesome you got them both. Thanks for posting.

This is one of the reasons I believe the USA is no longer a republic but an oligarchy. We are ruled by a few who the rules don’t apply to.

They can carry a gun but we can’t.
They have their own health care plan (paid for by the taxpayers) but we get stuck with Obamacare.
They have their own retirement pension plan (again, paid for by the taxpayers) and we get social security.

There’s two America’s people; the ruling class and the rest of us.

Reid and Feinstein are also two of the biggest hypocrits in congress.

    • daisy k

they both should have a draw on each other and shoot themselves

      • If that happens, the answer is easy. We win! 🙂

    • sDee

The closest model I see is State Capitalism similar to China. A ruthless ruling elite (the Party) that controls all business, a tightly controlled “middle class” that is slave to Party favor, and then slave labor.

Our elites are enamored with it.

  • sDee

Have Obama and Holder intentionally been ignoring gun law violations?

Gun Prosecutions Down 40% During Obama Presidency

One gun rights advocate remarked that Obama’s new tone was evidence of rank hypocrisy from the Obama Administration, saying: “If you are not going to enforce the laws on the books, then don’t start talking about a whole new wave of new laws.”

    • In a tyranny, laws are for convenience, not strict prosecution. The laws apply to whomever it is convenient to apply them to, and there is no practical way to enforce them all. Many laws gives the tyrant freedom of choice as to what they wish to do with you. A proper tyrant can prosecute anyone, at anytime, for just about anything.

  • keyesforpres

    The Second Amendment is NON-NEGOTIABLE.

We have a God given right to defend ourselves.

You a$$wipes work for us….we are your employers and you can’t take away your employers’ guns.

Obama’s good buddy Bill Ayers’s Weatherunderground was infiltrated in the 70’s and the guy said they talked about killing around 25 million of us to get their communist gov’t they want.

Obama is arming the gov’t to the teeth and working on his domestic security force and take away our guns. Gee, I wonder why?

    • warpmine

Likewise, it’s going to take the same amount to get the constitution that I want to get back to.

The final annihilation of the disease known as Liberalism begin. Let the shooting begin.

I know I know, just day dreaming. Any law banning of any firearm in reality is unconstitutional even though it may be ethical to curb “some” under the guise of common sense.

    • Before long, the second amendment will be interpreted as having the right to keep both of your arms, and not having to wear long sleeved shirts.

      • Or slightly twisted around to read that we have to give our guns to bears in support of the “right to arm bears”

      • keyesforpres

I’ve got news for the Supremes…..they are NOT the final arbiter of the Constitution. The Constitution is what it is…

Maybe the solution to the issues of hypocrisy and idiocy in Congress is as simple as requiring all newly elected Senators and Representatives to be able to pass a 9th grade literacy test.

    • white531

What a mean, heartless statement for you to make. I love you already!

    • The lobbies make the laws for them, so you had better present it to the lobbyists, then make sure that an interpreter can explain it to them so they can vote no on it.

    • Orangeone

Since education in schools is governed by the government and they believe they are experts, I say raise that literacy test level to 12th grade.

    • NYGino

….and know how to at least spell “ethics” and “morality”.

      • TitaniumEagle

Just get me a video of Pelosi trying to pass that one 🙂

  • Nukeman60

Harry Reid also believes we should be taxed at a higher rate (while he isn’t). He believes we should be subjected to ObamaCare (while he won’t be). He believes we should have our IRAs and 401Ks taxed to the max (while he has a sweet pension). He believes the 1%ers should be destroyed (while he is one and became one while in Congress).

Is it any wonder he wants to take our guns away (while keeping his)? You better hope your gun rights don’t get taken away. Hey, Harry. Do ya feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?

    • white531

How many have had enough of this crap yet? Are we ready to begin pointing guns in the direction of this oppressive government? At least the Arabs have enough balls to go out and get what they want as opposed to this population that would sit idly by and surrender our rights to tyrants.

      • Not yet. We have to go through the arduous task of trying to work within the system while we’re still a republic. When that effort fails, and they come for our guns, then we will have to enforce the law, as required by the Constitution.

      • proudhispanicconservative

The difference is that they have not established a civil society and are therefore still savages, but you are right, how much are we willing to allow these imbeciles to take away from us, until we take it to the streets.

        • Orangeone

I for one think the savages are residing in our WH and in many federal departments and portions of Congress too.

      • Matt_SE

Be careful commenting about this online. The Obama administration is obviously listening.

      • If we wait long enough, they won’t have to confiscate much. They could eventually get most of the guns in a “guns for food” program.

        • Orangeone

Those who lock and load know well how to fend for themselves. The gimmecrap libtards wouldn’t have the guts to squeal about someone else having guns for the consequences may well be lethal.

        • NYGino

“..guns for food program”. Good idea. They can get Kofi Annin and his son to run it. There would be no learning curve, they are well aware how to run that scam.

          • Hey NYGino. The Disqus issue is fixed on TRS now. I tweeted disqushelp and gave them the URL they said they were able to replicate the problem and fixed it. Cool, eh? Just like all these globalist bills used to bring down America, this one was designed, written and ready to be rolled out after the Fast and Furious guns slaughtered US citizens. That fell apart, so they now have this crisis to use.

They obviously “fixed” what was wrong with the last one and the California laws.

The second Amendment is their last impediment. This is it – if anyone has been putting off arming yourself you have very little time.

      • Yep. Even at the current prices and more. Gold and ammo. Soon to skyrocket.

  • no one in congress of either house should ever be allowed to own or carry a gun, they talk about the mentally challenged everywhere except there where it runs rampid. clean you own houses jackasses befor you try to clean mine

  • proudhispanicconservative

Here we go again, the republicans attacking a Woman Senator from the great state of California, California which is a model of what an utopian society looks like, the perfect model for the nation to follow. (This is going to be the defense against this). As far as Reid, we already know he is a corrupt, lunatic that is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
The Drudge , Breitbart, Fox News, scoop and all the conservative media Should have this in the front page, from now until she brings the bill up for a vote.

    • By “she” you mean Reid? He is a confused individual, but I had no idea. 🙂

How many times have we said the NRA is wasting it’s time giving endorsements to Rats? I knew this would happen and watch the NRA start caving.

    • I don’t have much faith in them either. They make some good statements, but I have heard others say that they are sellouts. Don’t really know why though.

      • Orangeone

I’m afraid they’ll sell out too thinking it’s a “compromise”. Time to start a conservative “Guns for Guys and Gals” club.

        • The morning news was reporting that the Oregon governor is considering what kind of gun control legislation he wants. This state has been pretty good compared to some, but that may be ending. State ban usually means they want you to get rid of them, and no grandfather clause. I guess we will see.

  • I Like Shooting, Too

Just goes to show you that people who want tighter gun regulations aren’t all hateful “gun grabbers.” If gun users like Dirty Harry and Diane Finestein can get behind gun regs, so can other gun users. Just defeats that far-right’s point that anyone who supports gun regs is anti-gun.

  • tinlizzieowner

The New World Liberation Front Dianne? You mean the outfit that was connected to the ‘Weather Underground’ with Obama’s pals Bill Ayres and Bernadine Dhorn.

Your tongue-in-cheek, “ban life” is part of the agenda. So are single family homes, private cars, and family farms. None are “sustainable”.

  • dontdrinkthecoolaid

It is amazing how this issue is slowing blowing up in the faces of the very people that want to control guns. Citizens, in droves, are going for carry permits, gun classes and purchasing their first or additional guns/ammo. A recent report show over one million new conceal carry permits have been issued in FL alone.

  • When Libtards say they are for “gun control” what they mean is they get to control all the guns and we get told to take a long walk off a short plank when we protest about it.

Mary MacDonald • an hour ago − A LITTLE GUN HISTORY

In1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953,
about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded
    up and exterminated.
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million
Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13
million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were
    rounded up and exterminated.
China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million
political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan
Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
    —- ————- ————-
Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians,
unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million
educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and
Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.
You won’t see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes,
gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note my fellow Americans, before it’s too late!

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.

With guns, we are ‘citizens’. Without them, we are ‘subjects’.

During WW II the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!

If you value your freedom, please spread this antigun-control message to all of your friends.

The purpose of fighting is to win.
There is no possible victory in defense.
The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more important than either.

Let’s hope their guns go off at a most inopportune time for both of them! Sayonara, MF!

From what I see on cspan and other public statements, these clowns are checking out whether they can ram this thru congress. They are probably figuring out how to do this, so a lot of what we hear is just window dressing and stalling until they see how far they can push it. One site was listing 15 things about the Australian gun ban – the last being that it ‘probably’ would not work here. So you know they fervently hope it would – which makes them dangerous. The media will push push push it as far as they think they can, because it is a religion with them. That is what makes this seriously dangerous.
If the media idiots had any brains they would ask a followup question to ‘why are there more mass murders lately’ such as What changed since the 50s and 60s – without comparing apples and oranges. Back then there were uppers and downers, rather than personality changing drugs like Prozac. But it is not like people turn into child murders if they don’t get their Prozac. Much more likely that some patients have the opposite of the desired effects. What changed is that Prozac has become commonplace where it never existed before. Of course one could guess that immigration changed things – are we importing an unusually large number of wackos ? Yeah but we have been importing lots of wackos for a long time, and it did not produce any Adam Lanzas, so that is probably not an explanation. Others say nothing can be done because there are always wackos out there, but the issue is that there are more wackos than normal.
Unfortunately I doubt it is practical to develop genetic testing to discover whether someone would have adverse reactions leading to this behavior. And it is speculation because I have no idea whether Adam was on any of this stuff.
As to whether his mother was a jerk. It is often the case that parents can’t get it right any more than a psychiatrist can always get it right. Back in the sixties a punk took a potshot at a schoolbus – his father tried the bonding thing and figured that father and son should go fishing and hunting together, so he got his son a .22. That was a mistake. A bunch of vets in town had to go have a little “discussion” with them – like reading the riot act, which appears to have scared the punk out of him.

Guns for me, not for thee. BS. You are not taking anything including our guns from us, Americans.

  • There are no surprises in either video. Democrats are by definition LIARS!!

  • This is one of the reasons I believe the USA is no longer a republic but an oligarchy.
