Tyrannical NHS wins legal battle to pull life support from another child, but little Alfie survives! New hearing scheduled!

Another unbelievable situation has arisen in the UK as the tyrannical NHS tries to take the life of another young patient.

We all saw this play out last year in Britain when a court sided with a hospital against the wishes of parents to remove life support from their baby named Charlie Gard. They simply wanted to bring the baby to the US for more treatment, but the hospital argued that would be inhumane or something. Gard eventually died.

A similar situation has now arisen, with the NHS arguing that it would be unfair to continue the life support of little Alfie Evans and ignoring the wishes of the parents.

At the core of the legal dispute is this:

“In Britain the rights of the patient override the wishes of the parents if doctors disagree with a mother and father.”

The NHS won their case and did pull the plug on little Alfie yesterday, but to their amazement Alfie didn’t die! In fact he survived on his own overnight without any oxygen or water for nine hours.

METRO – Doctors have been left ‘gobsmacked’ after Alfie Evans’ life-support was withdrawn but he continued to live, his father has said.

Tom Evans said it was obvious that the youngster was breathing unassisted ‘within a few minutes’ of life-support being withdrawn on Monday night.

Earlier, a High Court judge had dismissed a ‘last-ditch appeal’ by Mr Evans and Alfie’s mother, Kate James, to be given more time to mount a further challenge to a decision to end the 23-month-old’s treatment.

Speaking outside Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool on Tuesday morning, his father said Alfie’s life-support should be reinstated due to his remarkable progress.

‘He is still working, he’s doing as good as he can,’ he told reporters.

‘But we do need him to be supported … in the next hour it’s going to be hard but we will need him to be supported in the next hour or two.

‘Because he’s been doing it for nine hours totally unexpected, the doctors are gobsmacked and I do believe he will need some form of life-support in the next couple of hours and I think he ought to be respected and given that.’

All the parents want at this point is get their little boy out of the NHS and on a private jet Rome, where Alfie has been granted citizenship. But a new hearing must take place first:

BBC – The Christian Legal Centre, which is representing Alfie’s parents, said: “Contrary to all the expectations of the doctors… Alfie has survived much longer than the doctors predicted.”

Mr Justice Hayden, the High Court judge who ruled doctors could stop treating Alfie against the wishes of his parents, is scheduled to hear more discussion at a hearing in Manchester after 15:30 BST.

That hearing should already be underway. This is what the attorney will argue:

Alfie’s barrister will ask the judge to lift the court order stopping him leaving Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool so he can travel to the Pope’s hospital in Rome for care because he is still breathing without a ventilator.

The Italian defense ministry has a plane ready to transport Alfie to Italy and Christian Concern, the pro-life organisation backing the little boy, say an air ambulance is also ‘on hand’ to take him to Rome.

Today the head of the Vatican’s Bambino Gesu Pediatric Hospital, Mariella Enoc, said she spoke to the Italian ambassador in London who said their plane could leave with him in a matter of minutes.

Even the Pope has gotten involved:

But the Pope has supported Alfie’s parents Tom Evans and Kate James in their wish for him to be treated at the Bambino Gesu Hospital in Rome and last night he was granted Italian citizenship yesterday in the hope he can still be sent abroad.

Yesterday the Pope tweeted the following:

While I despise such a tyrannical system where the right of the parents are overridden by those of arrogant doctors in a socialist (if not fascist) medical system, right now my thoughts and prayers are with little Alfie. Hopefully our Lord in Heaven will see to it that this judge won’t allow another child to die in this wretched NHS system, and will set Alfie free so that the parents can take him to Rome where hopefully they can save his life.

This is my prayer.
