Ugh. Colin Powell praises Obama’s work on the economy

It’s one thing to endorse Obama for president on the front side of his presidency – you can always claim you didn’t know he was going to be ‘this bad’. But no, not Colin Powell. He praises Obama’s work on the economy like a good Democrat and said that one thing he wishes Obama had done was closing Gitmo.

Gag me.

  • Talk about betray us. WTF

  • marketcomp

I think Sean Hannity is having this sellout on his show tonight. What weight, who is listening to him! I can honestly say that Gen. Powell is no Allen West! That just goes to show that the best and most loyal people are not promoted in the military. Ronald Reagan is the President who promoted Powell and gave him opportunites and you see what we have now. Why is he even considered a Republican? I mean he is worse than a RINO! Typically as people get older they become more conservative except Collin Powell. He is getting more stupid as he gets older.

    • KenInMontana

Actually, as a soldier he did his duty and did not let his politics interfere with his service. Once he retired, then the “rat” came out of the bag, but he never dishonored the uniform, I will give him that.

      • I concur, which is why I didn’t insult him in the post.

        • KenInMontana

Which is one, of more than a few reasons why, I respect you Scoop.

      • K-Bob

He even stayed in soldier mode during the buildup to Desert Storm, as Sec. State.

    • LiveFreeOrDie2012

Email Sean and tell him to bring his marbles. Sometimes he gets wobbly. Powell is of no use to Conservatives. Thus, Sean should really let him have it. If he does not, then email Mark the next day and tell the Great One to call out Sean! LOL.

      • marketcomp

        You got it!

    • Linky1

From exposing Jeremiah Wright to interviewing Powell. The leftist forces at Fox must have told Hannity to have him on…”fair and balanced” and all of that crap. (Rolling eyes here)

  • LiveFreeOrDie2012

Colin Powell should be publicly repudiated by some major player in the Republican Party. He is the poster child for RINO. Someone needs to have the courage to call him what he is–a democrat. Hopefully, Allen West will do it for us!

    • I would love for Allen West to call him out. That’s a great idea.

  • poljunkie

In our view, he should have kept his opinion to him self in 2008. If he wanted to vote for Obama fine, but he didnt need to announce it on the news shows.

  • Arrrggghhh

Colin Powell disappoints me more than any other person walking God’s green earth. I once had the utmost respect for him. Like someone else said, I respect his service, but nothing else. Rather than being color blind, I think he was blinded by his color.

I’d love to see Allen West call him out also.

  • KM

I have to wonder… If the obama set fire to himself, would 95% of his black brothers follow suit…???

    • marketcomp

      They would, no doubt.

    • kong1967

No, they would set fire to the local businesses because it would be our fault.

  • badbadlibs

Powell has turned out to be a liberal lunatic. He’s a different man then the one I saw on national TV during desert storm, imo.

    • Susitna

I used to love and respect this guy. I don’t recognize him anymore. Where did he go? He is monochromatic and can only see black, and if it is black, it is good. A hidden racist for all these years? I will certainly not buy his book, because he will for sure support Obama with this money.

      • badbadlibs

Also, he has been elevated to the position he is in at the hands of REPUBLICAN presidents, he ought to try and remember that when he’s looking at the color of someone’s skin and not the content of their character.

      • badbadlibs

Also, he has been elevated to the position he is in at the hands of REPUBLICAN presidents, he ought to try and remember that when he’s looking at the color of someone’s skin and not the content of their character.

  • gag me. you took the words out of my mouth Scoop. Powell is such a disappointment.

  • JerrymB

Powell and his wife continue to run scared. She would not let him run for Vice-President or President because she was too scared what might happen to them. They made it sound like they carefully look frontwards, backwards, and all around themselves when they are in public–talk about PARANOID. Now he is so supportive of this Marxist thug of a President–scared someone will call him an “Uncle Tom” and may be someone behind the bushes if he is supportive of Republicans in any way. This is NO American military person–will sell out to anything that could be “scary.”

  • n2dstormwego

“Colon Pal”… I’ve always thought that would be a great name for some sort of personal enema device.

    • Rshill7

I did not see this post first, but I said some similar stuff below. Right on! 🙂

  • This dude’s always been a liberal. He got credit for Norman Schwarzkopf’s campaign. He’s an affirmative action general and a complete douche.

  • MiketheMarine

It seems that african Americans really can’t see past skin color. No matter the level of success, it is still their primary focus. It is time to call it as it is.

    • kong1967

Clarence Thomas, Herman Cain, Alan Keyes, Condoleezza Rice, Michael Steele…

They’re out there. Most of them are just unknown.

    • brendawatkins

      Don’t forget ZoNation!

    • PFFV

Let’s try to remember not to stereotype a whole group. There is good in every race, religion, and gender (gays included).

…just another reason to VOTE for Romney .(period)

  • Linky1

And you expected something different from Powell????

Think to the definition of insanity when you think of Powell. “….doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

    • PFFV

“doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

You could say the same thing about Socialism and Big Governemnt, the arrogant fools like Powell and all Progressives/Liberals/Marxists think they can make a failed ideology work even though it has been proven otherwise. Blithering Idiots hell bent on the destruction of The Greatest Nation ever crated by modern man.

  • Philo Beddoe

    Colin who?

  • Why doesn’t this guy just join the Democratic Party and be done with it? He’d be more at home there.

  • sDee

A Conservative president would never hire this guy.

    Who’s your daddy?

    • kong1967

Are you insinuating that Bush wasn’t conservative? Lol, no argument.

  • Nukeman60

Lauer: Gen. Powell, please declare your liberalism right now and I can slobber all over you like I do Master Obama.

Powell: I can’t. I love everything Obama has done, but I must consider the other guy. What’s his name? Oh, Romney. I don’t want to actually make a commitment here. I cherish the fence, where I can get all these talking engagements from both sides, even though I’m not important enough anymore to actually talk to.

Lauer: Then I’ll have to be saying that what you have done is despicable. If you’re not with us, we’re against you…

Lauer is such a slimy rat and Powell can’t seem to make up his mind what cereal to eat in the morning. Must be uncomfortable being a right-leaning, no left-leaning, no middle-of -the-roader like him.

    • nibblesyble

  • Wow, the liberal Colin Powell comes out. I guess he decided who he was voting for.

I used to have a lot of respect for the man.

  • Lee

It’s absolutely disheartening when even amongst the most educated and intelligent blacks, tribalism trumps logic.

  • kong1967

I didn’t watch this turncoat. He’s as conservervative as Olympia Snow and I’m not surprised at all.

  • Donya G

I lost my respect to this man, he belong to the gutter.

  • E. Lee Zimmerman

I think Powell can be now clinically diagnosed as “cuckoo for Cocoa POTUS.” I heard the man speak about twelve years ago, and, while I thought he was a good speaker (think Showbama) I strongly disagreed with his message.

  • GetWhatYouPayFor

Talk about guilty white folk, here is the mirror image in black. He did his duty, used his race as needed to get ahead, learned how to succeed and got used in the process, as well. You knew what you were doing, and had options, Colon. Too late now to recant, because the light is visible at the end of the tunnel, but whatever makes you feel better. We forgive you, old man.

  • c4pfan

At least he’s not faking it like Romney is.

  • NJK

Either there’s something wrong with him, or he is a socialist parading around with an R behind his name. Either way, he’s detestable. Shame on him for promoting a lie.

He obviously condones stealing? Obama is a thief. He has stolen money from taxpayers under the facade of green energy and stimulus. Colin Powell is a disgrace and should just move on. He’s done enough damage.

  • stage9

Washingtonians pick one word to describe Romney, Obama [VIDEO]

  • Joe

I have no respect for this man any longer – He’s confused and a sellout!

However – I respect his service ! (done)

    • nibblesyble

I second that..I respect his service too. Well said.

  • nibblesyble

Gag me is right! I have been less than impressed with the so-called great Colin Powell since he excoriated McCain for the way he conducted his campaign, but said nothing of Obama’s slippery conduct and then had the unmitigated gall to vote for a wholehearted liberal over his friend. Shut it Powell, I am not interested.

  • Rshill7

Lets take a trip in a time machine back to Gulf War 1 shall we? Desert Storm. “First we’re going to cut ’em off, then we’re going to kill ’em.”

Cut to the present. Obama’s great!

Colin. Change the spelling of your name to Colon mmkay? It’s a much better fit. What have you done for us lately? Once an in-shape toughguy, icon, now a soft, anus entering, colon-dweller. Who would’ve thunk it?

Maybe those challenging your blackness? You’ve learned that in order to continue in your God-given skin-color you must be leftwing. Those with more steel in the spines and red blood in their arteries, realize the importance of the individual. You sir have subordinated yourself to the collective and will end up nestled uncomfortably on that landfill headed mound, commonly referred to as trash.

Enjoy your lifetime payments from the people. You did a great job as a General. As a civilian though, you suck, loudly, morning, noon, and night. You endorsed a sack of shit, and you are what you endorse. Deal with it. Dumbass. Another person that doesn’t know squat about the private sector economy, because he’s also been sucking the government tit his entire life. Start a lobbying firm or something. Call it something like, oh, I don’t know…Lifetime Titsuckers.

To those of you who don’t like this post and think he deserves more respect than this. You give it to him. I will not. If you save my Mother’s life then ruin my daughter’s, guess what, you are my enemy, and O’s enema. Dupe.

  • brendawatkins

    It’s official.. he’s an IDIOT!

  • PFFV

There went the last shred of respect I had for Colin (blow) Powell. How can people be this stupid? We really do have a war ahead, in that so many people are this oblivious to the facts and the truth.

  • NYGino

He came out of the Lib/Dem closet a long time ago. Why is this a big surprise? Why does anybody care what he has to say at this point? He’s just trying to push a book and you can bet the MSM is going to be using him more and more to give ‘legitimacy’ to Obama’s campaign but this will only have an effect on racists who are going to go black anyway.

I came away listening to the whole interview with two thoughts:
-Color is thicker than reason and
-probably THE stupidest statement I’ve heard in a very long time, “Selective is part of everything”

  • NYGino

I’m surprised Powell didn’t reach into his jacket pocket and pull out a couple of Chinese health balls and start moving them around in his hands a la Captain Queeg in ‘The Cain Mutiny”

  • DeFeRa

All this talk about color as it relates to politics is tiresome. I intend to ignore the nonsense. However, my ballot goes to ROMNEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

  • wodiej

Another reason why I thought Bush was such a horrible RINO president. Powell, Rove, Cheney-all RINO lovers. Can’t believe we had 8 years of that nightmare then got 4 of Communist Obama. We’ll get 4 more or RINO Romney unless Gov. Palin goes rogue.

    • badbadlibs

Don’t forget that President Bush appointed John Ashcroft as Attorney General, you don’t get much more conservative then AG Ashcroft.
The “nightmare” under President Bush…yea, it was hell with that 4% unemployment, gas prices a dollar something, pro life legislation being signed…yea, it was rough….

    • Constance

Bush ticked me off plenty, and I disagreed with his big spending, big government tendencies. However, I always believed the Bush believed what he was doing was right. I may have disagreed with him, but I never felt he was deliberately trying to destroy my country like Obama is, in my opinion. He just wasn’t a conservative. He’s old school GOP. Romney is going to be the GOP nominee, so we have to suck it up and deal with it. He wasn’t my choice either, but nothing is going to change that path now. I will vote for him. I can’t allow myself to do nothing about Obama. He’s gotta go.

  • PVG

I am so glad my dad, who admired Powell, is no longer with us to see this. Truly disappointing!

  • Constance

What is the point of Colin Powell continuing to be a republican? He has no place in the GOP, and hasn’t had one for quite some time now. He is a racist, as he backed Obama based on the color of his skin. We all know it. He timed his support of Obama perfectly last time around to do the most damage to McCain. Colin Powell needs to switch parties and get the hell out of our faces. He’s a disgrace.

  • TruLevinian

    Such a sellout. Pathetic.

    • WordsFailMe

He was ever a phony, bureaucratic, suck up, castrado. The ultimate uncle tom.

  • I have to give credit to Hannity tonight for not soft-balling Powell. Not happy with Powell’s responses (can’t say I am surprised), but overall I was pleasantly surprised with “the segment” as a whole. Yes, he deserves our respect for his military service, as do all of those who have served and continue to serve in uniform. THAT SAID, I am disgusted with his politics. He is COMPLETELY out of the closet as far as his support for BHO and his tax and spend policies. He has shown his true colors. A patriot for his service?…YES An irrelevant political figure who represents what is wrong with the Republican Party?…Hell YEAH.

  • One reason why Bush was a big dud!

  • carolt2

I cannot stand to see Powell, he’s a traitor to republicans. I’m sure he will endorse Obama again. Obama has done nothing to help the economy and it will not recover until Obama is out of the White House.

  • Idahoser

why is this douche bag on tv?

  • mder4thegov

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t the RINO, establishment, Palin-bashing begin when Colin Powell–while endorsing the unaccomplished, incompetent Barack Obama–cited Gov. Palin as the reason he was supporting the democratic ticket. General Powell “conveniently” forgot to mention the lack of experience and background–regarding the guy on the TOP of the ballot that he was promoting.
In a typical, elitist, lazy manner he chose to ignore Sarah’s many achievements in almost twenty years of public service. The weasel knew he couldn’t say McCain was a weak “#1”, being a fellow V.F.W.; however, Gov. Palin was an easy target.
I feel it’s important we NEVER forget this unacceptable betrayal by this “so-called” republican, Colin Powell. I lost a ton of respect for the man that day, and there’s nothing he could do to get it back (not that the snob cares).

  • j

I believe Colin Powell is a great American. He served honorably in the military and as secretary of state. He provided true leadership by disagreeing with his party attempting to come up with the best solution for the country. He WARNED us all of the foolishness of invading Iraq.

And now, all you Republicans are trashing him because … he doesn’t think Mitt Romney will make a good President? I don’t see too many top Republicans running to endorse Romney.
