UPDATE: Newt disputes this report, says it’s totally misleading:
Totally misleading report about my talk at Bio this morning. In 90 minute dialogue made clear Trump is learning, a gifted amateur, will win

Newt says: “Totally misleading report about my talk at Bio this morning. In 90 minute dialogue made clear Trump is learning, a gifted amateur, will win.”
UPDATE 2: Here’s the transcript of Newt’s comments on Trump. I think he’s right, that they were taken out of context:
***
I’m sure Newt meant this in the nicest of ways…
.@newtgingrich: Trump “made a really stupid mistake last week, and it took him about 3 days to learn.” Calls Trump an “absurd amateur.”

Ouch. I thought Newt was in the running to be Trump’s VP! Maybe he’s not on the list anymore and he’s hitting back at Trump.
I guess we’ll know for sure when the next Twitter Trumpertantrum strikes and Newt is the target.
The person who tweeted this, Rebecca Robbins, is a reporter for StatNews. And apparently she’s getting blowback over her Newt/Trump tweet:
#RIP my mentions after tweeting about Gingrich's comments on Trump.

UPDATE: Here are some other things she tweeted from Newt:

.@newtgingrich on Trump/Hillary: “Both of them are gambling, & the question is what do the American people decide is the less risky gamble.”
— Rebecca Robbins (@RebeccaDRobbins) June 8, 2016
.@newtgingrich: "There is no question that a Trump presidency would be vastly more interesting." #BIO2016

.@newtgingrich marveling at Trump's social/media strategy: "He’s generated $18 or $20M worth of exposure during the day while doing nothing"
— Rebecca Robbins (@RebeccaDRobbins) June 8, 2016
.@newtgingrich doesn't give firm answer re: which prez candidate better for biotech. Says Trump could be much more aggressive in some areas.
