Uh Oh: CIA in Libya had evidence Benghazi attack carried out by terrorists within 24 hours of attack

Everybody in the administration has been throwing our intelligence under the bus. But now we find out that the CIA knew within 24 hours of the Benghazi attacks on 9/11 that it was not a protest or a mob, but terrorists:

CBS NEWS — U.S. officials tell The Associated Press that the CIA station chief in Libya reported to Washington within 24 hours of last month’s deadly attack on the U.S. Consulate that there was evidence it was carried out by militants, not a mob upset about an American-made, anti-Muslim movie.

It is unclear whether anyone outside the CIA saw the cable at that point or how high up in the CIA the information went.

The Obama administration maintained publicly for a week that the attack on the diplomatic mission in Benghazi that killed four Americans was a result of the mobs that staged less-deadly protests across the Muslim world around the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the U.S.

Those administration statements have become highly charged political fodder during the presidential campaign.

One thing I’ve noticed is that no matter who brings up the miscommunication that came out of the Obama administration over these attacks, Obama clearly doesn’t want to talk about it. This the second half of Obama’s interview last night on the Daily show. Skip ahead to 2:50 to hear the discussion on Libya and watch how Obama reacts when Stewart presses him on the miscommunication with respect to Susan Rice. He seems to get a little testy to me, but also notice what he says:

So as soon as they get the information they give it to the American people. Then why didn’t we hear what the State Dept. said? Why didn’t we hear what the CIA in Libya was reporting? NOBODY thought this was a stupid protest over a stupid movie. NOBODY. Yet this president insists that was the intelligence they were getting.

Ugh. I’m so glad we’re only a few weeks away from kicking Obama’s arse out of the White House. It must be done. I just can’t take the lies anymore.
