Former Republican and now former USA Today opinion columnist Cheri Jacobus crossed a line on Twitter that even USA Today couldn’t stomach, leading them to drop her after just an hour of investigation.
Here’s what Jacobus tweeted, which is still live on her Twitter feed:
don't worry, Caputo. When you're broke and in prison for treason, I'm sure Trump can find use of your young daughters to help them pay the bills. Maybe some Epstein parties?
— Cheri Jacobus (@CheriJacobus) July 19, 2018
(This is the one that got her dropped by USA Today)
are your daughters ugly like you? Or can Trump use them at the Epstein parties so they can survive when you're broke, bitter, along and in prison for treason?
— Cheri Jacobus (@CheriJacobus) July 19, 2018
if your daughters looked like that they'd do better in Epstein's barn, Caputo. Work on it.

Epstein is a reference to Jeffrey Epstein, a disgraced financier and Bill Clinton mega-donor who was convicted in 2008 of soliciting sex from an underage girl and served 13 months in custody.
USA Today was made aware of the tweet and released this statement:
Statement from USA Today:
"Our editors let Jacobus know that she would no longer be writing for USA TODAY. We have asked her to remove the USA TODAY affiliation from her bio.” pic.twitter.com/PkKi8I2HeE

The Wrap writes that there was a back and forth between Jacobus and Captuo that got very personal, but Jacobus took it way too far. They note that in another tweet she suggested Caupto’s ‘illegitimate’ daughter commit suicide:
your illegitimate daughter contemplating the pavement because her loser dad is a traitor? Keep it up #BadDad
— Cheri Jacobus (@CheriJacobus) July 19, 2018
Yikes. What a disgusting woman.
Jacobus has since removed USA Today from her bio, but apparently doesn’t care that these tweets are still live on her twitter account. She’s defiant and defending herself, which means USA Today definitely made the right choice in dumping her. Good riddance.
In case she gets a conscience and deletes her tweets, here’s at least the one that got her dumped:
