Video emerges of high school football coach PUNCHING student for discipline…

A video has emerged of a high school football coach in California punching a student in the stomach while his hands are above his head as a form of discipline for upsetting the coach.

You can hear laughter in the room as the punishment is delivered. But school officials are not happy about it.

What’s interesting is that at least one parent is defending the coach, saying too much is being made of this. She goes on to say she wouldn’t have a problem if the coach did this to her son.

I’ll go ahead and say that it doesn’t look like more than a mild-strength punch. But the school police apparently forbids this, so even if you agree with it, school policy says no.

I’m sure at least some of you remember getting whacked on the hand with a ruler or paddled on the butt by a teacher or principal many moons ago, when that kind of thing was still allowed. This isn’t necessarily the same thing, but it is football, so does that make it ok?

With all the tools in a coach’s arsenal (laps, benching, etc) it would seem there are much better ways to discipline a student football player student if you ask me. This totally seems unnecessary.
