The ACLU came to the aid of a NJ high school student who was initially suspended for 3 days for having a confederate flag hanging off the back of his pickup truck. But the ACLU reminded the school that someone’s first amendment rights don’t end in the school parking lot and the suspension was reduced to 1 day. And then the justification for the 1 day suspension changed altogether from the flag to the student leaving campus or something.
