On Face The Nation this morning, White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough faced relentless questioning from Major Garrett about the President’s handling of the scandal involving the deaths of American veterans at the hands of an incompetent VA.
Garrett continues to press for answer about the President’s specific silence in the face of nonstop spin and dodge on the part of McDonough.
“Denis, you understand how a veteran who may have been victimized by these waiting lists or be concerned they might soon become victimized by this waiting list might hear all your arguments and say ‘yes, I understand the broad argument you’re making about the things the President has done, but I need specific answers and specific outrage about this problem, now.'”
McDonough says that no one is more outraged about this than the President; a preposterous claim considering the lack of interest and action on the part of the administration. Certainly the families of veterans who have died might have an argument they are a tad more outraged than President Obama, who is sending out flunkies on his behalf for anything that isn’t a fundraiser. Or an appeal to race-baiting.
