VIDEO: Trump suggests he will push for equality for gays and lesbians when president…sorta

CR Wire picked this Trump interview up today with Sue O’Connell, an admitted lesbian, and put in their headline that Trump VOWS “Forward Motion” On Gay “Equality”.

Honestly I think that’s overstating it. He didn’t make any vows and it really sounded to me like he said it half-heartedly.

But they didn’t have the video. I do, so see for yourself:

When President Trump is in office can we look for more forward motion on equality for gays and lesbians?

Well, you can. And look, again, we’re going to bring people together, and that’s your thing and other people have their thing. We have to bring all people together and if we don’t we’re not going to have a country anymore.

I’m not disputing he said it, but I would suggest he only said it to placate O’Connell and keep moving the interview on. In fact earlier in the interview he talked about bringing people together, which I think he was simply repeating there again.

Maybe he means it, maybe he doesn’t. Time will tell, but just wanted to put this out there.
