NC Governor Pat McCrory has now called for a special session on Wednesday to repeal HB2 now that Charlotte has fully repealed its bathroom law:
But McCrory didn’t just stop there. He went on to rip into Rory Cooper and the Charlotte Mayor Jennifer Roberts for blocking this same effort before the election, pointing out this was about nothing but politics for them at the expense of Charlotte and the greater state of North Carolina.
He’s exactly right about that. The Democrats blocked repeal because they wanted to use the bathroom law and HB2 to get Cooper elected. But now that the election is over and McCrory is defeated, a sudden change of heart has emerged and now they’re willing to repeal it all.
