Ralph Peters said today that Trump needs to stand up for America against Russia instead of standing up for Russia against our intelligence agencies. Peters slammed Trump for saying that NATO was obsolete, arguing that it was not only an ignorant and foolish remark, but that the Russians are celebrating his remark because Putin wants to break up NATO.

Peters says emphatically that we don’t need a fresh start with Russia, they need a fresh start with America.
In fact he argues that the sanctions we’ve put on Russia (in conjunction with oil prices) are working, that their GDP has fallen two years in a row and Putin can’t fund his military buildup. He strongly believes it’s Russia who needs to deal with us.
He also points out that if we end up destroying NATO, then we are absolute strategic fools.
