WATCH: Rand Paul DEFENDS Trump Tweet, says everybody admits somebody SPIED on Mike Flynn

Rand Paul was on with Cavuto today, discussing changes to the Obamacare replacement as well as the hearing today.

First, Paul says the changes he’s heard coming to the bill are about adding more subsidies, noting that might win more moderates but not conservatives.

He also points out that he’s been talking to the Freedom Caucus and believes they have the 21 votes needed to block Obamacare lite from passing on Thursday. Which is a good thing, he points out, because it will put conservatives at the table for a change on this bill.

Toward the end of the interview he also defended Trump.

Paul says that everyone admits that somebody spied on Flynn, so he suggests that what Trump is alleging sounds like it’s already been proven.

When it comes to the tweet itself, he believes that Trump was really speaking broadly, evidenced by the fact that there is no such thing anymore as an actual wiretap.

Paul said he believes Trump meant ‘spying’ when he tweeted ‘wire tapped’ and that ‘Donald Trump’ or the ‘campaign’ likely meant ‘Mike Flynn’.

In essence, he believes we’re arguing in circles about something that has basically been proven already.
