Sessions gave a very forceful opening statement today in his hearing today where he not only stated unequivocally that he has never met with any Russian officials concerning interference in the election, but further called such accusations appalling and detestable lies.

Wow. Sessions got really intense and passionate there for a second.
Even before he said that, he specifically knocked down the Mayflower hotel accusation that he met with Kislyak:
