Ok we are finally hearing it from the horse’s mouth. Trump just said in a presser with Netanyahu that a small version of the US embassy will be in Jerusalem next year and it’s way ahead of schedule:

I’m glad to see the White House moving so quickly to get this done. As we reported the other day:
The Trump administration plans to retrofit an existing facility in Jerusalem into an embassy with the goal of moving its staff there from Tel Aviv in 2019, US officials said on Thursday.
The New York Times and Wall Street Journal quoted US officials on record, who said the State Department plans to reconfigure an existing consular facility that the US has operated out of Arnona in West Jerusalem since 1948.
I think the inference from Trump’s comments are that a larger embassy is in the works for Jerusalem down the road sometime.
