White House Press Secretary addressed questions from the press as to why Trump hasn’t imposed sanctions on Russia, especially in light of the Russian meddling revelations by Mueller and the DOJ last week.
Sanders said there’s a process that must happen before any sanctions can be levied, and the bill passed by Congress also says these countries have to violate something in order for those sanctions to go in place – which she says hasn’t happened yet.
Then she explained that Trump had been extremely tough on Russia already, saying he helped get 700 billion to rebuild the military, which Russia definitely doesn’t like. She also said he’s helped export energy to Europe, which she said Russia doesn’t like either. He’s also upheld the Obama sanctions and closed down three Russian properties, she pointed out.

Some of what Sanders said in the list of how Trump has been extremely tough on Russia is laughable. While I’m sure Putin doesn’t like us having a stronger military, building up our military is NOT being tough on Russia. Exporting energy to Europe is NOT being tough on Russia. Give me a break!
I know the White House has to spin to cover Trump’s golden rear, but this is so bad I’m surprised she didn’t get dizzy and fall over while she was saying this.
