CNN had a woman who’s son had been killed by an illegal alien, and also a “Dream Act” recipient both question Paul Ryan at their townhall event tonight.
The first woman asked him if he’s going to stand up for Americans, and demanded an answer on sanctuary cities:
Paul Ryan: "Sanctuary cities are a violation of the rule of law and they are not to be tolerated" #RyanTownHall https://t.co/ZL5JiCIa4u
— Anderson Cooper 360° (@AC360) January 13, 2017
Paul Ryan said very vehemently that sanctuary cities are against the law, and he’s going to what he can to shut them down.
Here’s the “Dream Act” recipient asking what they can expect from President Trump:
#RyanTownHall audience member: "DACA has helped me. Do you think that I should be deported?" https://t.co/iOb8HncFFp https://t.co/IJbzQn8zVZ

Ryan tells her she’s not going to be deported – something absolutely against what Trump said. He’s said many times he wants all illegal aliens to go back to where they’re from and we’ll let back in “the good ones.”
Jake Tapper pressed him on this, and he gave the audience a lesson in checks and balances of the American government:
Paul Ryan to woman protected under DACA: Don't worry about a deportation force knocking on your door #RyanTownHall https://t.co/CcdcgWgfuI

Ryan tells her not worry about any “deportation force” – again, something Trump promised many times.
