Trump’s biggest friend, Chris Christie, appears to be gently shoving Trump Jr. under the bus in a recent comment about the Russian meeting scandal.

Republican Gov. Chris Christie on Monday addressed Donald Trump Jr.’s 2016 meeting with a Russian attorney, saying it’s “probably against the law” to get opposition research for his father’s presidential campaign from a foreign country.
But Christie, a friend and adviser to President Donald Trump, also said that it’s too early be “jumping to conclusions” and that there’s no evidence the campaign obtained such research.
“I think, quite frankly, it’s probably against the law in addition to being inappropriate,” Christie said. “I think the thing that bothers me the most is that we seem to have a frenzy of people jumping to conclusions.”
However, they seem to be exaggerating what he said, because he was answering a question based on Trump Jr. actually receiving oppo research, which he said he hasn’t. In point of fact, we don’t actually know exactly what happened at that meeting, but it’s interesting that Christie, a huge Trump ally, would knife junior so easily.
This could be a sign that Trump himself is turning on his own son, OR more likely, that an incredibly unpopular Christie just doesn’t care anymore about telling people what he really really thinks…
