Wow: Pro-life group drops 196,543 baby socks at Capitol to protest Planned Parenthood

If you saw a bunch of baby socks at the U.S. Capitol today, it wasn’t because the childish Democratic members of Congress lost their laundry on the front lawn. It’s because a pro-life group came up with the demonstration as a way to dramatically portray the number of babies killed by Planned Parenthood.

That’s pretty effective. You can just imagine tiny little baby feet that are missing because of Planned Parenthood.

Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life, told TheBlaze that delivering all of the socks to the Capitol — and getting all of them through security — was quite a feat.

She said the socks were changing minds even as they were unloaded from the truck.

“I was changing kids’ minds on the street,” Hawkins said. “People were just walking by, and I would say, ‘Every sock represents one baby Planned Parenthood aborts,’ and people’s mouths were dropping. … One kid came back and said, ‘Can you say that again?’ So it’s a huge reminder that these are babies, and that’s not even all of them.”

Planned Parenthood typically performs over 300,000 abortions each year, according to their annual reports. The organization’s 2013-14 annual report said that it performed 327,653 abortions in 2013.

Good for them for coming up with such a clever campaign to express the horror of this blight on our nation.

And if you need to shut up some dumb liberal sneering that this is a waste of socks, the group says they’ll be used for other demonstrations and then donated to pregnancy crisis centers. So there.
