WUT? Fox News host ticketed for driving INSANE speed on New York state highway

Fox News host, Jeanine Pirro, was ticketed over the weekend for driving 54 mph over the speed limit in a 65 mph zone. That’s almost 120 mph:

THE HILL – Fox News host Jeanine Pirro was ticketed for excessive speeding Sunday afternoon in upstate New York after state police clocked her driving 119 mph, nearly double the speed limit.

A State Police spokesman said Pirro was in a 65-mph zone when she was pulled over by a state trooper in the Nichols, N.Y., for driving 54 mph above the speed limit.

“I had been driving for hours to visit my ailing 89-year-old mom and didn’t realize how fast I was driving,” Pirro, a former judge, said in a statement provided by Fox News. “I believe in the rule of law, and I will pay the consequences.”

A State Police spokesman said Pirro was only charged with speeding.

It is not known what kind of car Pirro, 66, was driving.

The Department of Motor Vehicles in New York says anyone convicted of going more than 40 mph above the speed limit could receive up to 11 points added to their driver’s license.

Amassing 11 points on a license may result in the driver being suspended.

First of all, how can she not know she was driving that fast? I don’t care how long someone’s been driving, 120 mph is insanely fast and very dangerous. How is it possible that she lost track of her speed going that fast?

Pirro is very lucky. If she were in North Carolina, her license would have been revoked on the spot and her car impounded.
