The ‘Christian’ woman who claimed that both Christians and Muslims worship the same god is now being fired from Wheaton college after she refused to engage in dialogue about her beliefs with the college itself:
CBN NEWS – Wheaton College has begun efforts to fire a professor who wore a hijab and said Christians and Muslims worship the same God.
The private Christian college in suburban Chicago says the decision to fire Professor Larycia Hawkins comes after she refused to participate in conversations about her theological views.
Hawkins was placed on paid leave in December after her statements.
Wheaton says Hawkins’ theological statements “seem inconsistent with Wheaton College’s doctrinal convictions, which she voluntarily agreed to support and uphold when she entered into an employment agreement with the college.”
Kudos to Wheaton College for taking action on this. But they have to take action on this, simply because they don’t want a reputation for having so-called Christian professors teaching there that don’t really believe in the doctrines of Christianity. It is what sets them apart and they must protect that if that want to remain viable as a Christian university.
