Greta on ABC This Week: Congress is hypocritical for grandstanding with BP

I love the way Greta characterized the congressional hearings with BP on ABC’s This Week. There’s no doubt that BP should have to answer tough questions surrounding the oil spill and the deaths of 11 of it’s employees, but I will point out that with the Justice department pursuing a criminal investigation of BP, I wouldn’t have expected Hayworth to answer much more than he did. The last thing he wants to do is self-incriminate his company by his own testimony before Congress.

But Greta nailed this one when pointing out the hypocrisy of Congress, who oversees the MMS, which has now been shown to have overlooked a lot of the mistakes with BP, to then grandstand and point the finger at BP as if they were they only ones guilty. In fact, just yesterday Ed Morrissey at Hot Air wrote an article detailing how both BP and the MMS were aware of the potential failure of this drilling operation in FEBRUARY, that 2 months later did fail and killed 11 workers and left us with this massive oil spill in the Gulf. So as Greta points out, this hearing only amounted to theater – that’s it.
