Beck admits that while he believes we should stand for something in the way we deal with countries in the Middle East, he also admits that he has no idea what to do about Israel. I’m afraid he’s not the only one. With Egypt heading to what may be an Islamic state and now Jordan dissolving their government as well because of protests, it’s not looking good.
I would say though that standing up against the Muslim Brotherhood and other radical Islamic forces is standing for something. The entire reason we’ve been giving over a billion dollars to Egypt is because of the Camp David Accords, which according to Bolton was the price for peace. Yeah, it’s definitely not a perfect world. But I would still say we have stood for something. Problem is we know now we didn’t stand firm enough.
