Herman Cain held a press conference at RightOnline where he began by clearing the air on three issues that people have given him angst over: Muslims in his cabinet, the 2nd amendment – federal or state, and the Susan B. Anthony pledge he refused to sign. Regarding the 2nd Amendment he said that he is against states restricting guns at the state or federal level but that he believes laws that center around background checks and ‘conceal and carry’ should be done on the state level. Regarding the Susan B. Anthony pledge, he took issue with only one word in the pledge, the word ‘advance’. It was used in the context of advancing legislation and he says as a president he can only promote and support legislation, but the advancement of legislation can only be done in the legislature. He says he contacted them about changing the word to ‘support’ but hasn’t heard back yet.
The rest of it is answering questions directly from the press and the first one of those is about auditing the Fed. I’m still going through it myself but I wanted to go ahead and post it since it runs about 27 minutes.
