Christine O’Donnell: Yeah, that witch ad was a mistake

No matter what your opinion is of Christine O’Donnell, you have to admit she turned in a great interview this morning on ‘Good Morning America’. Stephanopoulos asked her about the infamous witch ad from her Senate campaign last year, and O’Donnell confessed that running the awkward spot was a “mistake.” Even at the time, she hated it.

Via Mediaite:

I was a big supporter of O’Donnell vs. uber-RINO Mike Castle in the GOP Senate primary in Delaware last year. To me, that was a no-brainer. I realize there are a lot of fine conservatives out there who preferred Castle because they felt he was a safer bet in deep-blue Delaware, and/or they were less than impressed by O’Donnell’s credentials. However, I will never understand the point in siding with a candidate who you know up-front is going to turn right around and stab you in the back (a la McCain, Graham, Snowe, Collins, etc.) just because he happens to wear the right uniform and is deemed more electable by the GOP establishment. If the only way for a Republican to get elected in Delaware is to imitate a Democrat, then it’s time to write that state off as a lost cause. Otherwise, we might as well at least try to get conservatives elected there, even though it is an uphill climb.

UPDATE (RS): Just as a reminder, Rush didn’t like the ad either when it was released:
