Ann Romney responds to Hillary Rosen: Look, I know what it’s like to struggle

Ann Romney went on Fox News this morning to respond to Hillary Rosen who said last night that Ann Romney “has never worked a day in her life” which drew widespread criticism from both Republicans and Democrats. You can read about that here.

In responding, Ann Romney came across as very genuine in saying that raising 5 boys “wasn’t so easy”, asserting very strongly that her career choice was to be a mother and that “we need to respect choices that women make”. When playing Rosen’s clarification that what she meant was that Ann Romney could afford to make the choice and that many women don’t have that choice, Romney responded simply:

Look, I know what it’s like to struggle and if maybe I haven’t struggled as much financially as much as some people have, I can tell you and promise you that I’ve had struggles in my life. And I would love to have people understand that Mitt and I have compassion for people that are struggling and that’s why we’re running. We care about people that are struggling…

When asked about Rosen’s comments that Romney doesn’t see women as equal, Ann Romney clearly took umbrage at that statement saying:

That does bother me. That is not correct at all. You should see how many women he listens to and that’s what I love about Mitt. He has so many women in his circle. … Mitt Romney is a person that admires women and listens to them and I am grateful that he listens to me.

Ann Romney really comes across as a strong woman and will only help Mitt Romney with women voters and overall. Watch the full interview below:
