I can’t think of anything that should piss Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson off more than Harry Reid’s quote from the 2008 campaign:
Senator Reid is quoted in a new book by two journalists about the 2008 campaign, “Game Change,” as saying privately that the US would be “ready to embrace a black presidential candidate, especially one such as Obama – a ‘light-skinned’ African American ‘with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.’ ”
Harry Reid has reportedly already apologized to Obama and he has accepted Reid’s apology. And of course Al Sharpton gives his blessing too.
It’s all a bunch of BS. When a Republican makes an inappropriate comment, the democrats make a big deal about it and often call for their firing. Al Sharpton gets on board and makes it an even bigger deal even when it isn’t a politician. Remember Trent Lott? He had to resign his position from the pressure democrats put on him for making an inappropriate comment. More recently Don Imus made an inappropriate comment and he was fired for a year with Al Sharpton in the middle of it. Oh and remember when Rush Limbaugh made a comment about how the media wants a black quarterback to do well? They misconstrued it and he had to leave his job with ESPN. Oh, and then in 2009, Rush decided to participate on a team of bidders to purchase an NFL football team but his team backed out on him because Al Sharpton and the left made such a big deal about his earlier comment that forced him to leave ESPN.
Yet Harry Reid, among others, can make claims of racism from the Right when there weren’t any.
These guys honestly make me sick. Including Al Sharpton.
