Mark Levin callers expose phony stimulus job numbers in Chicago and NYC

Mark Levin had two callers tonight that both were in positions of authority so that they could see what really happened with the stimulus money and how many jobs it killed and/or didn’t create.

The first is a superintendent from a small school district in Chicago who says the stimulus money didn’t net any new jobs, that his staff in fact was exactly the same before he got the stimulus money as it was a year after he got the stimulus money. But his school district was attributed 10 net new jobs because that’s how many they could have hired, except the money really only supplanted state money. In other words, he got the same amount of money that he would have gotten from the state, except instead it came from the federal government and because it was stimulus money, they credited it with 10 jobs.

The second caller owns a small business that contracts with NYC government, and he says that when the NYC government got their stimulus money, they moved his current employees into the ‘stimulus’ category and because of the rules and regulations that came with the stimulus money, he had to lay off 2 of his employees just so he could pay the other employees their new, higher ‘Davis Bacon Act’ salaries. So in effect the stimulus actually killed 2 jobs and created nothing in his situation.
