A student interrupts Obama and yells “what about the public option” when Obama was talking about the new exchange that is being setup. Obama volleys back that he couldn’t get it through congress, and then goes on to describe this historic and monumental health care bill as “middle of the road” and “does do what everybody wants”, yet it is a “historic step to enshrine the principal that everybody gets health care coverage in this country.”
It’s what we’ve said it was all along, a path to single payer.
