Albinos in Tanzania ‘killed like animals’ by those believing their body parts are good luck

If you’re an albino you may reconsider that vacation tour in Tanzania, as so many are being slaughtered “like animals” for their “magical” body parts, the government had to start a program to teach people not to kill them.

A new campaign launched in Tanzania aims to protect albino people after a rise in the number of them being murdered.

In the last three years over 70 albinos have been killed, but only ten convictions have been made.

There is a belief among some in Tanzania that the body parts of someone with albinism bring wealth.

Sure make fun of #FirstWorldProblems, but at least we’re not killing our albinos for magical charms.
